I've played both sports at a fairly competitive level and football is physically, and mentally far more challenging than soccer. :rofl:

Thank you! I absolutely despise pro sports. I always have and I always will. Mr.Chomsky expressed exactly how I feel about them. He is my new mentor on this subject. I was always into music and art since I can remember. It is absolutely ludicrous how we put these mongrel/violent/asshole/criminal thugs on such a pedestal because they are superior physically, and then PAY them exorbitant amounts of money!:foreheadslap::what2: GODDAMN IT it pisses me off! They are enhanced by HGH and other drugs anyway. I am sickened beyond words at the disgusting display of horror that is pro sports.:scat::scat::scat::scat::scat:

Sure you get to rest a little, but during the moments of exertion you're working as hard as humanly possible, and the other guy is trying to do just the same. Running around gets tiring sure, but making constant contact against sizable resistance has always tired me out much quicker. I got to rest as a defender in soccer just as much basically :tongue:

That said, I also played both. But after one year of American football I shattered my heel and said fuck that, but kept playing soccer(football, for anyone who's not American).

I ended up playing soccer for 8 years total and I gotta say it is definitely more fun to play and it DOES allow you to get creative.


... but I do enjoy watching a good American football game.

you wernt a very good defender then:smirk: i actually watched the superbowl and i really tried to get into it, but all the stoppages were ridiculous, they would run for probably 30 seconds then they would stop. :shrug: its basicly a slowed down pussy version of rugby.:shrug:

I don't think football is that exciting to watch really, but it sure is exciting to play :smile2:,
and I played special teams, offense, and defense in football so the amount of rest time was pretty minimal.

The only contact sport I find even remotely engaging is rugby. It blows both handegg and football out of the water as far as physically demanding goes.

American football is all about the 'big moment', just like Baseball. The action builds to one big moment where an individual can make a huge move. Soccer is more about the flow, it doesn't build up to the big moment in the same way.

btw the way I am more of disc golf person (just one of many sports invented by us uncreative americans, who also invented Jazz :lol: )
