New Futurama
    #12799473 -

Just finished.  What did you guys think?  It's very different.  Almost not even the same show.  But I did enjoy it.  'Course I'm extremely intoxicated.

Thoughts?

Very fun stuff, but yeah it was noticeably different... which may be a good thing. Time will tell.

It wasn't much different from the 4 movies, which is all the new Futurama people have seen since 2003.

That being said, I really enjoyed them. But we will see. It's extremely hard to bring a show back and have it do well, since everyone is always so fond of the "classic" episodes.

It wasn't all that different, I thought they were great.

And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk ...four times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and its not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

Animation style was greatly refined (which is crazy cause Futurama was way ahead of it's time when it first came out) and there were a few other small differences.

It did remind me of the movies quite a bit...  and Fry and Leela's relationship has progressed (which happened in the fourth film).

For all that missed it @ 10pm, it's on again now @12. Although the first episode is almost over.

I liked it! Sorta liked the second one a little better.
However, both episodes were pretty funny IMO.

I'm glad it's back!

nahh.. futurama often crams a ton of shit into one show.  one seemingly unrelated event leads to another which leads to another before finally the main plot becomes apparent.  not every time of course, but there are definitely classic episodes wherein this is totally apparent.

i'm surprised that none of you have mentioned the sex.  yes, sexual innuendos have been made in the past, but nowhere near the concentration present in the second episode.  every other joke was a blatant sex joke.  the V-GINY, the mention of an orgy followed by Amy in a full on dominatrix outfit, the close-up of bender repeatedly reinserting his jack into the satellite's input, etc etc.  i think they're just flexing their new muscles of freedom now that they're producing for comedy central rather than fox.  but to me it was quite a noticeable change from the former years.

that said, i enjoyed them both immensely.  there's enough of the old futurama there for me to still love it.  and there's enough new stuff for me to be excited about what will come in the future.

and believe me.. IMSOFUKKINECXITED!! :durrhurr:

A bit offtopic; but.. [Re: tiny_rabid_birds]

Is TV free in USA?
You all seem to have the same TV schedule to follow.

Here in Norway, I got like 86 channels, cause it is payed for, but my neighbor only got the standard 18..

Is it like thar in US also? Like if you pay, you get all of them, but if you do not, you get none?

there are various different methods through which you can purchase tv service.  and tons of different prices.

but i'm not currently in the US, nor did i watch the new futurama episodes on television.

edit: i'm sorry, i wasn't very specific.  but to answer your question, no it isn't like pay one price and get everything.  most people pay for standard (rather than basic) cable, which would include comedy central.
