Getting the Droid Eris tomorrow!

I finally have a modern phone!  I'm always 3 years behind the current cell phone market, but Verizon Wireless has this promotion going on where you can upgrade to a smart phone if you've never had one before before your contract is up so I ordered it for $50, and my bill's only going to be about $75 total a month for the phone, unlimited data plan, text, etc and the insurance.  I'm FINALLY in this century! 


Anyone have the Eris care to comment?

You can get the moto Droid online for that price I think, amazon or some other site has it.  Much better phone. I believe eris won't be updated to android 2.2 though you could do it yourself by rooting it.

One of my best friends bought the Eris as soon as it was available and absolutely loves it, can't imagine life before it she says. She has no problem justifying the extra mobile costs because she uses it all the time.

You're gonna love the Android platform. Very sleek and easily customizable. I'm posting from the HTC Evo right now. Verizon is coming out with the Droid X and Droid 2 not far from now. Those phones may be a little more future proof than the Eris, but hey, sometimes you gotta go for yours. Enjoy.

I have the HTC hero which is basically sprint's version of the Eris,
I love this phone so much, and I'm just like you, had an old school phone for so long and stepped way up..
