A cork remover, no screw needed.

the video showed a guy putting the wine bottle in his shoe (to cushion it?) and then he hit the bottle on a wall a few times and the cork popped out.

A screw might work but you'd get bits of cork in the wine

what i have done before but its a pain in the dick is to dig about a half to 2/3 of the cork out with a knife. then it will push threw into thew bottle much easier. only problem is there is little pieces of cork floating in your wine. put a paper towel over your glass and pour slow. the towel will filter the cork material out. did this about 20 years ago when i was a kid when we got a bottle of wine with no corkscrew. you do what you have to when you wanna drink and your 14

You have to admit that video is incredible. The french can't win a war but they can open a wine bottle stumbling drunk with a shoe!

That might work. Or I could go to the dollar store.

It's 375 mL of 108 proof moonshine. I'd like to drink it.

If I had known the contents I might have made a more serious suggestion...

Yea digging out and then pushing through works. In fact, it's worked even when I DID have a corkscrew...plus it gives you an excuse to drink it all.

If you can manage to tap a bit out with a shoe you can use pliers to get it the
rest of the way out. You could push it through with a screwdriver as well.

Put a screw in the cork then yank it out with the claw on the back of a hammer

I've done that, and it works like a charm.  I also tried with a pocket knife and ended up drinking a bottle of wine/ 1 20th cork pieces.

1. freeze the wine
2. break the bottle
3. remove cork
4. thaw/funnel wine into another bottle

What's the point of removing the cork once you've broken the bottle?

It's moonshine.
But the liquor store sells corkscrews, it's all good.
