what i have done before but its a pain in the dick is to dig about a half to 2/3 of the cork out with a knife. then it will push threw into thew bottle much easier. only problem is there is little pieces of cork floating in your wine. put a paper towel over your glass and pour slow. the towel will filter the cork material out. did this about 20 years ago when i was a kid when we got a bottle of wine with no corkscrew. you do what you have to when you wanna drink and your 14

It's 375 mL of 108 proof moonshine. I'd like to drink it.

I've done that, and it works like a charm.  I also tried with a pocket knife and ended up drinking a bottle of wine/ 1 20th cork pieces.
