Klip Dagga advise

I was looking for a quick piece of information or advice.
So, I have a leonotis nepetifolia plant which is about 2-2.5 feet tall, which I started in november 2009. It's doing really well, I put it outside about 2 months ago.
The part about this that is concerning me is that I heard that they flower when they reach about 6 feet tall, and I got the seeds from a person that had theirs above 10 feet tall. Mine are forming buds at 2-2.5 feet tall!! I just noticed this today.
So, is this usual? Why could it be doing this?
And most importantly, if this isn't usual, could I just cut the buds off, and hope for the plants to continue vegetative growth so they get much larger before flowering?

I've seen wild ones flower as small as 2 feet, they should be fine.

Yeah, but that's wild. This is klip.
I think it may be the funky weather here in WA.
It has been rainy, cold, and windy one day, and the next day it's 70 degrees...
It just doesn't seem normal..

No, i mean I've seen wild klip dagga(klip dagga growing on sides of roads, etc.) flower at around 2 feet, if not less.

Does it still get decent amounts of flowers, and nice ones?
I'm puzzled on this because I've provided it nice conditions and such, and it's already starting to flower...
It's not fair!

Just think of it as an opportunity to get more seeds to perfect your method more :grin:

Also from the pictures I've seen of them, they seem to add a few feet of flowers, or so it appears.

Yea, the buds were pretty decent sized, diameter was about the size of you're average bic lighter, spikes and all., and Cactusdan is right, great chance to practice you're technique.

My plant grew inches a day as it began to form flower pods, which began when it was a few feet tall. From seed to about 12 feet in less than 6 months. It sounds normal.. these plants love as much full sun as possible, it's going to take off soon. I would say don't cut the buds off as I imagine they are immature and will grow much bigger as the plant gets taller in the next few weeks.

Your plant will do just fine:thumbup:. Besides, one giant plant provided me with far more flowers, foilage, and seeds than I could use.

Some of my buds were the diameter of about 3 bic lighters :grin:
