General hunting question....help pleez!

I live in a golf community, and i heard some active shrooms can grow on golf courses. how likely is that? do u think i would find any or is it highly unlikely that they grow there? its been raining every day here lately also

Try to bring a camera and use macro mode and you can hunt for Panaeolus cinctulus.

Well if you were in georgia, I would tell you to look for weilii right now on golf courses. But, since your in my homestate, born and live 10 years of my life in boone, north carolina. Well the guy above me is right, your gonna wanna hunt for panaeolus cinctulus, However, the golf courses down here in georgia are surrounded by thick hardwood trees on either side, all of which are in woodchip beds, its weird, you have to see it to know what I mean. However if you see woodchips up there on the golf course you could also try to find gymnopilus aeruginosus

People who own golf courses mow them regularly.  I would chose someplace else.

Yeah this is what I was trying to say, but I had a brain fart. Check beside golf course not just on it.

Golf courses are probably a bad place to look for active in NC, not to mention there are issues with pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides used on fairways and the greens.  I actually do hunt both actives and edibles on my local courses here in Seattle, but I'm very careful about the chemicals and knowing when they have been applied.  Luckily they are used very sparingly here in our area.  I would guess in NC, with so much moisture needed for the grass, you have serious insect problems in the summer months, so I'm sure they apply stuff for that.  Although if your courses are trying to be more "green" you can probably find some tasty Agarici on the fairways.
