Full body chronic eczema?
    #12638022 -

Alright, I need some major help. I have full body chronic eczema and I have had this stuff since I was eight years old, im now 23. This stuff has interfeared with my entire life, women, jobs, hygeine, education, fitness. I cannot do this anymore. Right now I am unemployed so money is not an option sadly, and maybe thats the problem. Im seeking some kind of help, any. Ive tried everythin in my power and nothing has worked. I've had staff infection twice from it, I cant scratch anywhere on my body without it breaking out. And my skin itches ALL the time, everywhere. Itches so bad that when I do scratch I dig into the skin, its like an itch that cannot be itched. My skin cracks and bleeds, sometimes I get large cracks and cannot use my hands. I get patches on my bodie, ive had it on my foot so bad I was not able to bend my toes inward. Ive had it on my hands soo bad where I was only able to use them minimally. My skin gets so dry, my skin is ashy, my face is extremely ashy after showers or when touched by water.
I wash my hands maybe 1-2 times during the day, because when they are wet and dryed it takes about a half hour to get them to hold moisture with various lotions and ointments. I go through a bottle of lotion within 3-4 days. Sadly the pictures are after putting lotion on, and this is mild compared to how it gets. On a bad day my skin scales and sheds like crazy. I cant stop scratching. If I lightly scratch my ears they will break out and secrete a fluid, and on the back of my head. My hands have got to where they puss before many times. And they get sooo dry. I do not have cuticals on 5 of my fingers due to this, and my nails are...wavy,grainy, and looks like they have strange dents in them. This is taking a toll on me psychologically and physically. Im having a hard time starting a descent life because of this. I have an extreme lack of confidence, and am always unsure of myself and im possitive it is because of this curse, Can anyone suggest something or give a solution to this??
I cannot fight with it anymore, Im not one to give up but If I have to check out of this world just to rid myself of this shit then I will. Its litterally driving me insane. Sleepless nights, itches so bad. Ive scratched my hands with knifes,on the edge of tables, chairs, on metal, everything. The itches are soo bad that only certain things can get an itch that deep. Nothing works. Ive ben to the dermatologist many times and nothing, lotion barley even works. Every 8-10 minutes I have to put an ointment or lotion on. This shit is bad, example I scratched my head last night, not hard but a scratch like anybody would do if they had an itch and now im getting a few patches on the top of my head. This is how bad it is. Im tired of it.I mean my face gets so dry that the sides of my mouth crack open, And when they crack open it takes months for them to heal. These pictures are mild compared to how my skin gets.

Ive tried olive oil, olive oil in lotion. Ive tried endless creams and ointments, nothing seems to work. I think it's either a massive deficiency in something or sever allergies to some commonly used ingrediant of some sort. Im not sure. I need to find a solution, I can't do shit with this stuff. Instead of making a schedule I have to make a schedule around my skin, I can only have a certain amount of contact with water through out the day(excluding drinking it). I can only sweat so much through out the day or else it makes it break out even worse, I have to watch what physical activities I do, too much ware or working my hands and they crack open. This stuff is driving me insane.

My brother had a skin condition for about 4 years. I gave him a new diet and it completely subsided. It was much like your except it was more patchy, but it was all over the place.

People are being healed from Multiple sclerosis, cancer, arthritis and your disease from diet. You might be lucky enough to find relief but first....

Give me an example of an average daily meal plan.

You need to get rid of processed carbs and grains from your diet.  Eat higher % of fresh fruits and veggies.

Next, coconut oil.

Spread it on your skin everyday and eat at least 2 large tablespoons every day.

Look up oil pulling for a third use for the oil.

If you haven't tried coconut oil yet (Exterior and interior) do it.

Its not that simple.

He needs to get rid of all that AND all meat(minus occassional fish, supplement fish oils) legumes, dairy and eggs. Also, stop using soaps to wash your skin, use only all natural soaps and deoderants. Shave your pits instead and apply lemon to them or rock salts.

ALSO - you should begin this transition with a vegetable and fruit smoothie cleanse and some laxitive teat. IF you can get wheatgrass and/or grow your own do that as well....

  I would definitively try a major change in diet. Try  going raw. You may need to work your way up to it so don't push too hard.  I've seen a raw or mostly raw foods diet treat several skin conditions including the one I had. Clean out your body. It won't happen over night but within a year or less you will, imo, see great improvement.

I agree on most of the diet and soap issue (look up Dr bronners for soap), but meat is not the culprit.

Processed meats are bad yes, and should be avoided, but healthy grass fed meats are NOT going to contribute to acne, it is the grains and carbs.

Incorrect. I disagree completly, meat is one of the most toxic substances we can put inside our body.

Ever heard of 'Hetero Cyclic Amines' ?

They are basically overcooked protiens that tend to happen to a huge extent in Red meat and not in fish for some reason...also red meat contains NO essential fatty acids and the fat is incredibly difficult to digest, not to mention that they are a huge storehouse of toxins and there is alot of toxins in our environment that even grass fed cows absorb.

I've seen studies that show a huge relationship with colon cancer and red meat consumption....more so than high carb. The same study found an inverse relationship between salmon and colon cancer...if this shit is causing this crap, it must also cause other problems as well.

Here I have the study....

Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition

Background: Current evidence suggests that high red meat
intake is associated with increased colorectal cancer risk. High
fi sh intake may be associated with a decreased risk, but the
existing evidence is less convincing. Methods: We prospectively
followed 478 040 men and women from 10 European countries
who were free of cancer at enrollment between 1992 and 1998.
Information on diet and lifestyle was collected at baseline. After
a mean follow-up of 4.8 years, 1329 incident colorectal cancers
were documented. We examined the relationship between
intakes of red and processed meat, poultry, and fi sh and colorectal
cancer risk using a proportional hazards model adjusted for
age, sex, energy (nonfat and fat sources), height, weight, workrelated
physical activity, smoking status, dietary fi ber and
folate, and alcohol consumption, stratifi ed by center. A calibration
substudy based on 36 994 subjects was used to correct
hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confi dence intervals (CIs) for diet
measurement errors. All statistical tests were two-sided. Results:
Colorectal cancer risk was positively associated with intake of
red and processed meat (highest [>160 g/day] versus lowest
[<20 g/day] intake, HR = 1.35, 95% CI = 0.96 to 1.88; P trend =
.03) and inversely associated with intake of fi sh (>80 g/day versus
<10 g/day, HR = 0.69, 95 % CI = 0.54 to 0.88; P trend <.001),
but was not related to poultry intake. Correcting for measurement
error strengthened the associations between colorectal
cancer and red and processed meat intake (per 100-g increase
HR = 1.25, 95% CI =1.09 to 1.41, P trend = .001 and HR = 1.55,
95% CI = 1.19 to 2.02, P trend = .001 before and after calibration,
respectively) and for fi sh (per 100 g increase HR = 0.70, 95%
CI = 0.57 to 0.87, P trend <.001 and HR = 0.46, 95% CI = 0.27 to
0.77, P trend = .003; before and after correction, respectively). In
this study population, the absolute risk of development of
colorectal cancer within 10 years for a study subject aged 50
years was 1.71% for the highest category of red and processed
meat intake and 1.28% for the lowest category of intake and
was 1.86% for subjects in the lowest category of fi sh intake and
1.28% for subjects in the highest category of fi sh intake.
Conclusions: Our data confi rm that colorectal cancer risk is
positively associated with high consumption of red and processed
meat and support an inverse association with fish intake.
[J Natl Cancer Inst 2005;97:906–16]

The four important points are 478 000 people reviewed, meat intake as a serious predictor of cancer and the last line, inverse association with fish intake and colon cancer.

I would eat meat raw or just shinged for a few seconds on one or each side. This is usually how I eat meat now and I consider it health food if grass fed and organic.

Your pictures are exactly how my hands/arms used to look. They would crack and bleed and I wouldn't be able to use my hands. I had a dish washing job once where it got horrendous to the point of having to quit.

2 years ago I found out I was allergic to gluten, dairy, and eggs. As soon as I cut those out within a 1-2 months everything was completely healed. I highly recommend you look into this. Diet is very limited but their are many great foods that you can eat.

If you can't have a specialist find out if your allergic to these foods through the proper testing. I recommend you try to cut out all gluten and dairy for 1 month. It could change your life for the better, even if it is a hassle to stick with it.

Do you realize that HCAs form when you burn meat?  Eating raw meat (or lightly seared) you don't run into these problems.  It also digests much easier.

Your claim that red meat contains no EFA is absurd man.  COWS need omega 3/6 to survive, just like you.  Red meat has EFAs, if it didn't it wouldn't be a living animal.

The problem with factory farmed animals is that they have improper EFA levels.

The fat is also not hard to digest, especially if you eat it raw.

You need to think about what you are saying before you start spouting some anti-meat propaganda BS.

I agree animals need to be raised properly, but frankly NOT eating grass fed animals is a waste of pasture space.  People always say that eating animals is bad because you can feed more people with crops.  Truth is crops can't grow everywhere grass can.

This study clearly showing the HCA's form in RED MEATS, PORK and CHICKEN in higher concentrations that in fish.

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_udi=B6T6P-3RH6CJC-3K&_user=10&_coverDate=06/30/1997&_rdoc=1&_fmt=high&_orig=search&_sort=d&_docanchor=&view=c&_acct=C000050221&_version=1&_urlVersion=0&_userid=10&md5=3754abad27d5aca69de5c888a8ae0679

I realized that I had an error in the way I was thinking about it, because I took the statistics to reflect the type of meat, not the effect of the way it is brought up.

Thanks for that.

However, there is a clear correlation to the superb health properties of fish, in comparison to meat, especially in that first study I posted.

Careful with putting too much effort into pseudoscience bullshit.

Good dermatologists are hard to find, and even when you do find one you will likely have to work with him for a while before he finds the right treatment for your condition.

Psoriasis and eczema are both a bitch to get rid of.

There's a reason no real doctor, the ones with the "M.D." after their name, are going to put you on a restricted diet.  There's just no clinical evidence to back it up.

People get fucking sick.  It's fallacy to hold the belief that we are all inherently perfect and our modern lifestyle and diet causes everything that ails us.  There are genetic components to these diseases and until gene specific therapy is put into use everyone will have to continue using the less effective drugs.

Not to say that radical diet changes can't cause physiological changes in the body.  Take someone who has acne for instance and get him to the point where he's only eating nuts and vegetables and yeah I agree his skin will clear up.  It's from a drastic drop in IGF and testosterone levels though.

Completely and utterly disagree. My brother had psoriasis and eczema, with the raw food diet I gave him he was healed within a month.

I have also found plenty of studies linking diet to skin disorders such as these.

There is a reason doctors don't know and its because there is no money in getting people to change diets, unlike the profits involved in giving people like my brother cream after cream. We spent over 1000 dollars for him in creams and atibiotics.

He ate a salad with carrots, romaine, nuts/seeds, a can of tuna for lunch, nuts and fruits for breakfast and also pounded plenty of frutis rich in vitamin c and e throughout the day, and had his evening dinner with rice, past, chicken, seafood, etc.

This winter, he was disease free.

While I tend to agree with you, I don't trust the way you throw out that you read all these studies that say this or that. The last time I asked you to produce a study you refused.

So let's see the links to these studies so we can evaluate them.
