I think he was a genius.  He went beyond having the "gift of gab" to being something of a poet bordering on genius, and you don't have to agree with his views 100% to appreciate the way he presents them.  Our community lost a very important member when he passed, hard to believe its been 10 years now, he is sorely missed.

This probably deserves its own thread but I guess this is a good a place to pass it on as any.  There are some more obscure lectures by Terrence here, as well as talks by many of the more prominent members of the psychedelic community. Huxley, Ott, Shulgin, Leary, Pincheck, are all here, Terence stands out among them all though. On a side note, the very first podcast "psychedelic thinking" offers some advice to our community that I think everyone of us should hear.  Hope some of you enjoy them as much as I do.

Terence Mckenna didn't even believe a lot of his own theories.
one of the thangs he said was

"My technique, which I recommend to you, is don’t believe anythang. If you believe in somethang, you are automatically precluded from believing its opposite. Therefore you have given up a portion of your freedom, and freedom is the dearest thang we’ve got."

Any Alan Watts? He was great too, although with a more regimented style. There a couple youtube videos of his speeches, but I've seen them and they aren't as good as the ones sold on CD.
