Is there a thread on the process of doing something like this? I kinda get it but I kinda don't. So you put rye berries in the skull then in a bag, PC and wait for it to colonize?

i would imagine he cleaned the skull, then mixed spawn, something fully colonized like rye berries, with another bulk substrate, and filled the skull with that. then he put it in the bag for extra protection besides what the tub was providing against contams

Yeap exactly,  fully colonized RYE, mixed the rye with coir in the skull and put it in a bag until 100% colonized.  When it reached 100% then I took it out of the bag to fruit.

I had some cardboard that was already colonized and stuff it in the skull,  but yes you spawn it the same way just use a different substrate.
