a new discover to jack up humidity and temp
    #1242072 - 01/23/03 07:53 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

i have an electric blanket under my fruiting chamber that is filled with perlite.
temperature is at 88f and the humidity is like crazy crazy crazy. so much i had
to turn temp down cuz it was raining in there. rain is the biggest problem.

i heard that mushies are 95 % water so this makes my mushies take up a lot
of water very fast b/c temp is so high and moisture is too.

Thats not at all a new discovery... everyone knows that more heat equals faster evaporation.

Second, those temps are way too high. Too high for incubation.
Incubation should be like 84-86*, and fruiting should be in teh high 70's

i posted a few days ago about using an electric blanket, and with the replies, and the more i got to thinking, it's very dangerous. electric blankets are only supposed to be left on a maximum of something like 7 hours. be careful friend!

Be careful! I used heating pads the same way and bruised a shitload of mycelium. It's damn easy to have the temp to high. Try putting your tub in a bigger tub with some h2o and a submersible aquarium heater at 82F. It distributes the heat way better.
