HUMIDITY/TEMP. QUESTION
    #440854 - 10/29/01 03:40 PM (21 years, 10 months ago)

I am using the cool mist humidifier method for my mushies. My problem is that I can not get the humidity past 80% in my terrium. There are no casing in the terrium yet. Im just doing a test run. so my question is:

Would my humidity increase from the mass of the casing when i add them to the terrium? If not, what can i do to increase the humidity without changing the method im using? (I've already put wheather stripping around the rim of the terrium to raise the humidity. it went from 75% to 80%. but i need to get it abouve 80%)

secondly, i cant get the temperature above 70 degrees. What can i do to make the temp get above 70. would the temp. in the terrium increase when i add in the casings? if the answer is no, what can I do to raise the temp?

>Would my humidity increase from the mass of the casing
>when i add them to the terrium?
Yes. Most likely the humidifier will gve you too much humidity at that time. Have you calibrated your hygrometer?

>Would my humidity increase from the mass of the casing when i add them to the terrium?

>secondly, i cant get the temperature above 70 degrees.
70?C is just fine for fruiting.

>would the temp. in the terrium increase when i add in the casings?
Yes, 1 or 2 degrees.
