Buying an FM Transmitter for my car today
    #12366314 -

I HATE THE RADIO!!! im sick of hearing the same 5 songs day in and day out so ive decided to make the trip out to best buy and purchase an FM transmitter for my mp3 player.

are any of you using these as well? ive heard both good and bad reviews on the devices, but its my only option unless i want to spend 200+ bucks on a new car radio. all i have is a stock AM/ FM radio with no AUX and no tape player.

I'd advise against it. I've used about 5 different brands (that were top of the line) and have never found one that wasn't filled with static. Spend the time to get a radio with an AUX input. You can find a radio for less than $200 that has one.

I used one in my work van. It worked pretty good but the "intellitune" feature it had sucked ass. You just had to find a channel that was 100% static and set the transmitter to that channel.

Which is fine until you realize that even if you find "that station" you will eventually pick up frequencies on it. Don't waste the money man.

Yeah those things are pieces of shit, don't do it!  I've owned 3, and returned them almost immediately after opening because the sound quality is just irritating.

i dont mind spending 20-30.00 on something like this. if i hear one more song from five finger death punch i will run my car off the road and take as many people as i can.

i dont have the extra funds to buy a new radio and have them install it. my car is much more difficult to do this in then others. it will cost 200.00-250.00 plus labor.

Just get a CD player with MP3 capability and burn your music to a CD. Problem solved!

Get a radio install kit for your taurus and pick up a cheap (or 2nd hand) standard car radio to go with it. You can easily install this yourself. Really.

I've owned a couple of them and have broken them cause i was so pissed off with how bad the reception was.... but
then i bought one that the reception comes in perfect and its a great product. I was spending around 15-20 dollars on each
but this time there was a sale for one from 60 and its a huge difference from the lower quality ones.
just make sure you buy a good one or you'll be disappointed.

also you could always wear headhones i see people doing that quite a bit

I'm pretty sure that it's illegal to wear headphones and drive in most states. It's illegal because the government claims that you are going to have music so loud that it drowns out emergency sirens and horns, making you a hazard on the roads.

If you have a tape deck then this is the best way to go

I'm sick of the radio too.
I'm tired of hearing "Snuff" by Slipknot after every other song.
I miss Metal Shop Saturdays. :frown:
