sounds like you're scared of him. Torching his car sound good but be very careful, make sure the police can't trace it back to you.

A friend of mine felt insulted by the way a server looked at him in a sandwich shop near his house. Later than night he got drunk and went out at 3am and smashed the shop window. Turns out the police had an unrealated cat burgler op on at the same time and arrested him immediately. Took a while to convice them he wasn't a cat burgler, then he just had a $1000 bill for the window to pay. That took a while too because he was unemployed at the time.
