Salpeter, from Sal Petrae - salt of rocks, KNO3

It doesnt work as an anaphrodisiac, thats a myth.

Get some of the powder and crumble it with a teaspoon on a plate. Mix it with the same volume of powdered sugar and hold a flame to it.  If it sizzles and burns forming orange/red hor drops that cool white, its indeed salpeter.

But - its probably a tin that used to hold sugar, not coffee.
