if there was any remaining doubt in your mind that feminism was not somehow linked to the radical right.. now there isnt...add to that mix the likes of liz cheney..nutmeg whitman..carly fiorina..michelle bachmann..etc.. and i think its safe to say that feminism has forged an unholy marriage with neoconservatism..if it hasnt always been so...

It's good to quote Anna.

And as always, Anna demonstrates her compulsion to randomly redefine words the rest of the population already knows the meaning of.
Tea Partiers are just about as far away from fascist as it is possible to get. And female fans of the Tea Party movement are far from exemplars of the Feminist movement - at least as that movement is understood by anyone who has spent even a few minutes looking into it since its birth in the early Seventies.

Anyone can call anyone else a fascist. Some people just look sillier than others doing it because they don't know the definition of the word.

So feminism is bad because it means right wing women are politically and socially able to organize?
That doesn't make sense.
A more interesting, zen like question would be "Are a group of organized women feminists if they vote away their very own abortion rights?"

And then there is her fervent embrace of "neo con" for all things not anna. I ran into this today:
Quote:
95 percent of Democrats who use the term “neo-con” are just employing it as a generalized term of abuse, like a dimwitted 8 year old who hears a new dirty word from the big kids on the playground but doesn’t really know what it means.
The other 5 percent use it as a polite euphemism for “dirty Jew.”
Instantly made me think of her. And Ron Paul. Odd isn't it?

anyone who has read any of the hate-filled rantings of robin morgan..andrea dworkin..kate millet..etc could easily see a very direct line to teabagger bigotry and the popularity of authouritarian governance (whether dependent or independent of the teabaggers)...

Dworkin's work is actually a pretty good example of feminist thinking that results in socially conservative conclusions and then relies on fascistic ideas of control. But she has more in common with Pat Robertson than she does with, say, Gloria Steinem. Many strands of feminism, while critiquing pornography, don't share Dworkin's interest in oppressive censorship. There is a difference between criticizing something and making it illegal. And there is a difference between criticizing something in its status quo version and producing your own version of it.
If feminism only catered to left wing politics and democrats, it wouldn't really be a valuable social movement. The fact that feminism has advanced women with opposing political view points is proof of how neccesary a re-imagining of gender politics has been over the last century and continues to be. I'm glad the right wing is producing a better example of women in politics than Sarah fucking Palin.
