Could this be Cyan mycelium?
    #1226656 - 01/17/03 01:24 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

I found this piece of bark with what appears to be psilocybe cyanescen mycelium on it. I found the stuff growing in a big pile of maple wood that is in close proximity to a already established cyan patch. From what I can tell the newly found mold looks similar to the mycelium growing in the patch. If it turns out it is cyan mycelium,  ill use it to start a new patch

Might be, might not. It looks like it, but there's no way to really tell without seeing the fruits from it. You'd probably be better off to pull a little chunk of substrate out of the established patch.

The only way I know of identifying psilocybe mycelium is to see if it briuses blue. If it's cyan mycelium it should bruise blue.

It doesnt bruise blue. Does that mean it's not it? Do any other mushroom molds have rhyzomorphic mycelium besides psilocybe strains.
