Cyan id?
    #3251225 - 10/19/04 11:23 AM (19 years, 10 months ago)

These were found growing out of some old pieces of bark, maybe some type of hard wood.. tops were moist flat to wavy, not sticky, about 2-3.5 in tall. Spore print looked purpleish. Gills attached, cinnamon brown ,whiteish stalk central bruised blue fading to a green.

Almost positive you found Cyans but I'd like to see a picture at an angle that shows the cap.

Next Time use scissors.

It doesn't look like it to me. Are you sure about that spore print?

Hrm, it still looks good to me. The gills, the shape of the cap, and the size all looks right. The stem is right except for the shade of color in the middle but it could just be the bad photograph.

I am not an expert but I've seen a few pounds of them this week.

Why would you pull it up and ruin the underground network instead of cut it off near the base of the stem and save the network so you could get more from that spot later??

I got some Cyanescens right here in front of me, and all the stems are pure white except for bruising. Off to eat em.

yes, the gills look a little strange, as does the coloring... maybe a picture thats more in focus, and also a picture of the cap would help

Is that bluing or black bruising?

Galerinas will bruise a black color and are deadly.

You need a better description/photo to make a positive ID.

Try squeezing the gills, one finger on the cap, one on the gills, and pinch it good. The fringes of the gills will hopefully turn blue.

As long as we all have an opinion, I'll bet when the other pics are in it's not a cyan.

Stem looks like it bruised blue...but the cap is tough to tell from that pick.

Looks iffy except for the blue looking stem.

Any more pics???
