ID Request - NE US - Mushroom Growing on Damp Mulch
    #12218511 -

These were spotted in the vacant garden area in the backyard when I was working outside.  The first of this year that i've noticed. Just curious to know what i've got in the yard and want to practice my first ID request.  That'd be neat if it was a tasty edible, but i'm not getting excited.  I wish i found them in better condition.  Thanks to all.

____________

Habitat: Mulch, woodchips - Damp mulch in area exposed to little or no sun.  Area was landscaped last spring.  not sure what type of wood.

Gills: Light brown, tan, beige, cinnamon.  Wavy and distant. I believe the gills have a notched attatched to the stalk.

Stem: Whitish, beige to light brown. pretty fragile, rough and uneven surfaces, twists, dents (not straight or smooth). approx. 1cm wide.

Cap: same color shades as stem, light-brown, tan, smooth, fragile, thin, seems to be hygrophanous, 1 inch and smaller in diameter.

Spore print color: Very light brown, tan.

Location:  NE USA, MD

Other:  when still fresh smells somewhat like blue cheese and a slight mushroomy scent.  this area of the garden where found has remained damp and mostly sun-free and these specimen havent appeared to change shape, size, or consistancy.  They seem to have been smashed or trampled.
