I finally got a laptop!

With how big of a computer nerd I am, you'd have thought that I would have obtained or purchased a laptop years ago, when in fact the closest I have is a broken P3 laptop with an enterkey that doesn't work that a friend gave me.  I guess my iphone could be considered a mobile computer, I jailbroke it and it's  capable of some amazing things but this laptop...

I can play crysis in full quality at 1440x900 resolution, no lag or slowdown, almost never gets choppy.  The laptop I purchased has the Intel Core 2 Duo P87000M processor, with the nvidia 260M GTX graphics card, and 6gb dual channel DDR RAM.  She doesn't break a sweat when playing crysis, gears of war, dead space, or call of duty 4.  I'm excited!


Now,what else can I use my laptop for other than work?  And also what should I do with it to entertain myself through my nightshift, as constantly playing games seems shifty?

There's no way you're running Crysis on full on ANY laptop... Sounds like you got a pretty sweet machine though!  It's definitely nice to get your first laptop - I now have both a laptop and a desktop, and let me tell you, that's the life!

(Check out the ASUS G73JH-X1 to see a laptop that will easily compete with high end gaming enthusiast desktops, I also think alienware makes one with crossfired cards).

Yeah, it's a heavy sob, but I do a lot of photography and roadtrips, so it'll be ideal for working with RAW files in photoshop (I've got an inverter in my pathfinder).  I'm also going to be using it with UnrealEd and 3d studio max at work, going to reteach myself 3d modeling and game design.

  I'm going to use it to replace my desktop and save energy.  I'm also going to get myself one of those little netbooks for when I don't need something that can do 3d graphics design.

install XBMC. youll have support for HD video off loading to the graphics card.

youll be able to play 1080p video and only use about 8% cpu. :thumbup:

Also a friend of mine and I play Crysis on his Asus laptop in Full so it can be done!!
