Can't connect to IRC server

For some reason, I've never been able to connect to the shroomery IRC server from my apartment. I really have no clue why.

Here's what IRC says:

* Connecting to irc.shroomery.org (6667)
-
* Unable to connect to server (No Route to Host)
-

And here's what happens when I ping the server:
Pinging irc.shroomery.org [69.28.174.165] with 32 bytes of data:

Destination host unreachable.
Destination host unreachable.
Destination host unreachable.
Destination host unreachable.

Ping statistics for 69.28.174.165:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

Why is it that I can resolve the server, but not ping it?

I don't know! I just tried to get on for like the first time ever. I guess I am banned? If anyone could let me know why I am banned, if I really am banned, and when I will no longer be banned from the chat? It'd be very much appreciated!

I have made some oopsies but nothing ban-worthy I wouldn't think.

Just realized I thread-jacked, my bad. I guess at least I am bumping this?
