SSL on the IRC Server

Any progress on this?

It's a Vampire999 question, and I know he works FT...

Even if it's only for supporters I'd still really like to see this feature; I am extremely uncomforatble about connecting to the IRC and having all messages in plaintext.

If somebody says NIGGER DRUGS COCK or links to RC sites/script sites/porn then anybody on my network can watch it go past them to my hostname/ip....

please, I don't think I should have to beg  :frown: :frown: :frown:

This isn't just a feature that can be clicked and turned on. We have to migrate to a completely different ircd. This means porting everything we already have.. not to mention downtime.. and possibly loss of the services databases.

Basically it comes to downtime and I haven't received enough requests that it makes sense to make everyone suffer the upgrade inconveniences.

If your major worry is across you personal line get a shell machine somewhere and bounce to/from it. All traffic between you and your shell box will be encrypted.
