Does Anyone else Write?

I used to love writing as a kid and make long ass books in elementry school. Then I quit writing for a long time. Now I kind of have the desire to write my thoughts just encase the writing of my thoughts can be a useful to me.

Try it.  I used to keep a journal, its really interesting to read now.  Try a book of drawings and writings you compile, ready it many years later :wink:

The last month or so I've been coming home from friends house and instead of craching out, taking a half hour to write lyrics or journal entries. I've found that it helps me keep my sanity and not burst out at all the stupid people who say stupid things.

I love writing in general, I have a journal that I started when I was 14 years old, I still read it every now and then for a laugh. I have a couple going on now, one that I just write happy things in, and when i'm having a sad or bad day I like to read over it and it usually puts a smile on my face. I also have a 'serious' journal ~ but I don't write in it all the time, just when I feel the need.
Writing always makes me feel good though.

I often have the urge to write but when I finally put pen to paper I realize that I don't have much to say. I'll often get phrases or sentences coming into my mind, and then I'll write them down. I don't think I have it in me to write anything worth reading though.

  morning page's are a good way to 'bring out' your creative side..I play bass guitar, and sketch/draw and i'll go a couple days when I have a block, that's when I do morning page's...have a notebook beside your bed, and when you wake up grab it, grab a pen and write what ever comes to your head..I write a page, and if all that's in my head is 'morning pages' that's all i write....I find this is a good way to get those 'non-artistic' thought's out of my head.... :tongue:

A journal is an incredible way of working through issues/problems - one can learn a lot about one's self simply by taking a bit of time to write random reactions to random occurances throughout each day.

When I finish writing something very long, and go back over it, it seems to help me sort through the extreme amounts of inexpressible stuff in my mind, and convert lots of it to clear English.

I think writing is fantastic. Words have such incredible power over the way we think of things. Call me a geek...my students do...but I get off on a cleverly worded phrase.
