Insane things someone could do while on LSD? (creative writing)

Hi people. Soo, I'm writing a short story for my creative writing class dealing with a main character who is in a psyche ward because of something crazy she did while on acid that almost killed her.

BUT WHAT?

Remember it's a short story so the more crazy/out there/entertaining it is, the better, but still has to be something that could actually happen.

(Given: The character is a deeply depressed individual and she already has a lot of natural psychological illness)

Me and a friend were trying to think of a list of ideas. I thought of her tripping at Disney and deciding to go crazy and jump off one of the waterfalls that are off limits to try and die, but then she lives because it's only like 30 feet, hah. Or something to do with her taking all her clothes off in public and running into traffic. Or something dangerous to test the laws of physics or gravity because she began to question them. Something like that. I would love to hear peoples' ideas (and remember this is not a portrayal of a TYPICAL LSD trip, it's going to portray the most EXTREME aspect possible of what can happen on an LSD trip, especially with someone who already has some issues. so think in the most extreme, creative terms possible.)

Any ideas would be appreciated and honestly it's kind of a fun/interesting to think about. I mean, with acid, ANYTHING can happen. Thanks!

I watched this old LSD propaganda video where this girl dropped acid while she was babysitting this baby. She was supposed to put a turkey in the oven, but, to the fright of the baby's mother, she put the baby in the oven!

This other girl went to go buy a hotdog and it's started talking to her and she went crazy. :lol:

I'll go look for it.

She goes camping, to trip in the woods.  Make camp fire, dose, and jump in because it seems like a way to cleanse yourself.  You can elaborate to make it interesting, but this is actual a real story for me.

those are the perfect words to sum up everything i've realized from LSD. it's hard to put it into words sometimes and most of my friends who do acid aren't really on the same page as me, so it's nice to see someone who is. :smile:

but it doesn't answer my question.... she needs to do something crazy that would danger her life and get her in a psyche ward.

consider this list as inspiration then, it's an old shroomery favourite:

  • Cars can hurt you.
  • You cannot fly.
  • It's never a good time to die.

I would love to make it about the positive aspects of LSD but the story is not about acid. The story is about a character with a lot of issues who ends up in a psyche ward because of acid, which can happen, (and happened to me, which is basically what i'm using as inspiration for this story.) What I'm saying is don't worry because I'm not just going to make it a typical LSD propaganda style story. Acid is not going to be the villian.... this character's mental issues are. I'm going to make it really clear to the reader that this character is naturally INSANE, without acid. The acid just allows for all the insane/extra creative possibilities for her to unleash her insanity. It's really not about acid at all it's just about the main characters' struggle with mental illness. But yeah. Thanks for the ideas!

Here is something insane I think about every once in a while. My ex girlfriends brother admitted to taking a bunch of acid with his butcher friend and going into a field of cows with a chainsaw and taking off a leg. I definitely believe him, he was a crazy fucking kid. Now he's pretty average guy actually.

Okay I think I figured out this quote thing, hah... and unfortunately yes, my last trip last November. I took some acid that was fucked up and laced with something really bad. I could write a novel about that night but long story short whatever was in the acid almost shut my body down completely and I stopped breathing for awhile, then survived through whatever poisoning it was, but then I went crazy and thought I was getting messages from God calling me to be the next Jesus and kill myself to save the world, so I tried to kill myself as a sacrifice out of love for humanity, but all I had at the time was 20 tylenol pm pills and a steak knife, which i fucked up my wrists with, then passed out and woke up 8 hours later barely conscious in a pool of my own blood. Before I was planning to die I also covered my body and my room with green paint, I painted my entire room with all of my last thoughts and I rewrote the bible. I'm an atheist and I really don't know where any of it came from but all the shit is still on my walls and it actually makes a lot of sense and it's really fucking creepy. When I woke up (in my closet) I crawled my way out and made my way over to my dad who freaked the fuck out when he saw me covered in blood and took me to the hospital and i got Baker Acted and had to go to a psych ward for a week when I got out of the hospital which yeah was a loaded experience.

Sooooo, yeahhhhhh....... hah. I blame that whole thing mostly on the factor of really fucked up acid, though. It took me awhile to get straightened out mentally after that but I'm actually doing really fucking good right now.

bear with me here, but...
did you ever consider that maybe it wasn't the acid? i mean, i'm not saying that taking the acid didn't trigger this episode, it did indeed trigger it. but was it actually 'bad acid' that was the cause of the episode?

what i'm saying is...perhaps the causes that led to the episode didn't have anything to do with the acid, maybe it was just potent LSD that triggered an explosion of pent up energies that you had been suppressing subconsciously, manifesting in dramatic psychological and physical displays. 

i say this because your episode is but one in a long line of episodes, with similar characteristics, that countless people, unprepared for a strong LSD trip, experience when their ego-base constructs are suddenly and unexpectedly ripped apart.

trust me, i've seen alot of people exhibit some very strange and disturbing behaviors when they are in the trance of a heavy ego death, and your experience is academically characteristic of the common reactions people have when such an experience occurs.

I'm sorry, but the story does not make sense.. You would be required to have a mental illness in order to be sent to a mental ward and doing some crazy shit under the influence of acid is far from that... As some poeple have pointed out already, no matter how hard you trip, you will inevitably and definitely come down. Perhaps you could write about some wacky shit going on in her head from the LSD induced schizophrenia. :smile:

first of all, the character does have a mental illness, but the crazy things she does while on her trip is how it is unleashed in a way to bring her to the ward. but it's not just about doing something crazy on a trip, i'm talking about consciously doing something to danger your life while on a trip and going to a psych ward. second of all, people get sent to psych wards because of acid all the time (but pretty much just when they do something to danger their life.) like i said, it happened to me, and let me say, i wasn't the only one there because something i did while on acid. but like i said, it's mostly in regards to when people try to kill themselves while on acid. when someone tries to kill themselves/ends up in the emergency room/survives, they usually have to go to the psych ward no matter what drugs they were on when they tried to do it. so it's really more about getting into the psych ward because of doing something to danger your life (which my character did while on acid.) hope that makes it make more sense.
