If you want to renounce your part in your social contract with the government, you're completely welcome, but you shouldn't try to have it both ways. As long as you recognize the United States government as legitimate, which you do by having a social security number, paying taxes, having a driver's license, etc. you must accept and admit that you are a criminal who violates the law of the land. Doesn't mean you can't work to change the laws, but until such time as they are changed, you're definitely a criminal.

As long as you remain in the citizen-government contract, yes, you are. So what?

You aren't listening to a single word I'm saying. Breaking laws that are unjust and criminalize victimless activity is not a bad thing, nor did I ever say was. Be that as it may, breaking the laws of a legitimate government within its country makes you a criminal. It's not a question of whether or not the law should be on the books, it's a question of whether or not you regard the government ruling you as legitimate or not, which clearly you do since you haven't renounced their authority.

Absolutely. For the umpteenth time I do not support the laws and I support the breaking of those laws and advocating to change them. But breaking them still makes you a criminal.

Why is the "government" allowed to play god and overrule/outlaw the plants that are allowed to grow on this earth?  do you see the ABSURDITY in that????????????????????????????????????

Yes, its absurd and very unfortunate that you are a criminal for ingesting plants in your own home.

That still makes you a criminal, but the good kind.

We are all criminals here, nearly all of us are felons, though many have not been caught.  Its a shared bond.

What about renouncing the social contract? This is completely off-topic but ... new threadworthy. Has anyone DONE this? Would one need to move out of country in order to do so? What would this entail? I mean, we DO benefit from being a part of society as much as we suffer for that fact as well. . .

Leaving the country would probably be necessary as the gov't isn't going to let you withdraw your citizenship and stay in the country.
