More creatures die and are killed more inhumane in the harvesting of veggies than eating meat. When they harvest in some areas the population of man animals goes down quite a bit

domestication of livestock goes back to the dawn of our species -- symbioses with food animals is arguably a defining characteristic of humanity
meat protein is and always has been a valuable food source, and so long as the livestock populations can be kept healthy and treated with sufficient respect, there is nothing immoral about eating meat per se

the fact that modern livestock practices have gotten out of hand and become shamelessly exploitative is not morally representative livestock cultivation in general
we don't need to stop eating meat, we need to start treating our meat more respectfully -- there's a difference

that said, there is no respectful way to slaughter an animal for entertainment
whether the meat of a bull is sold after the fight is largely irrelevant -- the fact is that the animal was made to suffer for a long period of time, because people wanted to see it suffer for a long period of time

if you actually can't discern the logic of that line of argument, i think you've got a pretty warped idea of what counts as moral

to my understanding, intelligent fruit, nut, and grain cultivation can meet 100% of human nutritional needs -- but if you know of something which discounts that view, i'd be happy to see it
