Nope, not at all. I was never interested and because of that my points slacked so much that I had to re-do a few years. Then I became 18, said fuck it and started working.

I <3 work. Have been saying that since I was 12, I don't want to go to school, I want to work.

HOW? I don't take it "seriously" but it's starting to bite me in the  :ass:

If I could keep my vibrations with me then I would be able to do it better but by the end of the day I am like this -  :dead:

I don't want to keep playing their game when I am intelligent and could be doing so much more!

:supercrankey:

This is all synced up because I needed this topic right now

A bunch of kids are stoned in one of my classes- it would probably help me  :bonghit:

and what they teach in high schools math wise is bullshit- all this pointless made up shit turns you off of it's true beauty :psychsplit:

I do have a really AHHMAAZZZING hippie high school counselor!  :hippie:

Since Elementary school, I never studied. I learned to just remember and recall everything for tests and forget the useless info afterwards. I have a pictographic memory. I remember so many times on a test going "Okay. This question is asking about xxxx. I remember the page it was on. The was a pic of a kid drinking water from a fountain. The paragraph started on the lower right side of the page. There was a bold word in the book. Oh! It was that! And that has to do with..." and then I rambled until I got an A. Once you get good at getting good grades, high school is boring and easy.

well certainly going to college gives you a general idea of a direction to go in. But it doesn't necessarily make you smarter, or give you any huge leg up on someone that didn't go, unless you are in a very specific field. 9 times out of 10, actual experience trumps a book education. Not trying to downplay a college education, I just couldn't afford it.. all I'm saying is that you don't HAVE to do it like most people seem to think, and you aren't doomed to failure if you don't. Smart people are smart people regardless of what school they go to, and just because you can afford college doesn't mean you will be better because of it or have ten times better chance of getting X Job. Sure, it certainly does open up more doors and more opportunities. But you can still open those doors yourself. And you can get a college level education, without going to college.

I never in my life failed a class, 2.0 my entire life  Fine with me. No effort required but all the same benefits really, minus scholarships, but I wasn't interested in that.

I think the better question is what DON'T I do. I've been working since I was 15, I've done everything from construction to satellite installation to media production to building sustainable community to herbal and nutritional consulting and multi-level marketing. I've had some pretty amazing jobs and been able to work with some amazing people, and from here it looks like it's only going to get better... a LOT better. All just from direct work/life experience, and whatever I taught myself or learned from other people along the way.

Like I said it wasn't the material in school that was the problem. Until I dropped out/gave up, I was a straight A student in all the advanced classes. The social environment of school just did not agree with me. I could not deal with their bullshit. If anything, it was WAY too easy and not challenging enough.

I did.  I slacked in physics senior year because I just didn't fucking get the math.  The theory had me captivated but then it came time to solve equations and shit and I threw in the towel.  I actually enjoyed high school.  I wasn't a part of any clique, I socialized with all cliques and got some respect for it.

Middle school on the other hand, I just about wanted to kill myself.  That was the worst experience of my life.

That's 100% me

Shit, I'm still better off than some of my friends that went to a fancy college. Not all, but some.
At least I've had a lot of crazy job experiences. Having to go outside the box is cool.

What kind of jobs?  :dealer:

and to Dynoo-
For tests I do that as well... I can just study once twenty minutes before test and almost ace it.... But sometimes I don't put in that time because I am so overworked or think I might know it

And what about homework?

Well you definitely have the type of personality one needs to succeed. All the smarts and education in the world don't mean a damn thing really if you're not dedicated to showing up on time and getting the job done.

Yeah I'd say I took it fairly seriously. I took loads of APs and got good grades because I wanted to get into a certain school. I definitely still found time for fun though. But once I got into said desired school (halfway through my senior year), I slacked SO much. It was terrible. I skipped class all the time and I literally just didn't take tests for classes because I just didn't care anymore. I think my final grades for that 2nd semester were like an A, 2 B's, a C, and a D. Coming from a girl who mostly got straight A's lol.

School can break anybody's spirit. :sadyes:

I was high for high-school.  Or blacked-out drunk...Or both.  Sometimes I took school somewhat seriously--I certainly stressed over my grades enough, and tried to reform my attitude after getting suspended a couple of times--but most of the time I just fucked around with my friends and ignored all my school-work.  Now 4.5 years after graduating I'm just finishing college, still struggling to shake poor work habits.  I wish I had taken high school more seriously, exercised my mind and body more and abused them less.

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”
