Finishing high school required you taking it at least halfway seriously and pretending to play their game. I wasn't about any of that.

I remember this Psychology teacher I had who was really anti-drug, and I'd have long stoned ramblings with him about spreading misinformation. He always jabbed at me in his lectures "I know some of you are on drugs right now.. but hear me out!" :eek:

I have never understood people that drop out of highschool...i mean, seriously, you went to school from kindergarten until your 16, when you can legally drop out, which is as a sophmore or junior in high school, so one or two more years, so that the last 11 can actually amount to something, just seems extremely ridiculous to quit at that point IMO.

I dropped out in my senior year, then I went to community college, then I dropped out again. :stoned:

I figured a diploma was worth any self deprivation they may try and put me through. At least I got SOMETHING out of going to school for 12 years, something useful, anyway.

Middle school on the other hand, I just about wanted to kill myself.  That was the worst experience of my life.

It's 10 years later and I'm still not convinced that a high school diploma gives you any extra edge on life whatsoever.
Shit, I'm still better off than some of my friends that went to a fancy college. Not all, but some.
At least I've had a lot of crazy job experiences. Having to go outside the box is cool.

Modern compulsory education is ridiculous, I think attending it caused me a lot of psychological damage that I am still not even aware of...:crying:

I just didn't go. 8th grade was all I could fucking handle.

I got accepted to a college with scholarship.

I'm about to graduate with a 3.9

High school is a fucking joke.

You can still join most branches of the military with a Good Enough Diploma.
The only thing not having a high school diploma will stop you from getting into, is an ivy league college.
I'm not interested in either of those things though

i would have to say my experiences were quite a bit different.  I only have one friend that didn't finish highschool, and he is damn near useless, is over 30, lives with his mom, smokes pot all day, and never holds down a job...the friends that did finish have done alright, and one of them actually has a really good job, but also went to tradeschool and became a licensed plumber.  The others get by, but not easily.  The three of us that went to college, are all doing quite well, though one is still in the same job he had during college, he has held it for a long time and does alright.  The other two, have jobs that require a bachelors degree.

Air Force and Navy require an actual HSD although I'm not 100% sure about the Navy.

What do you do if I may ask?

And Poid - why the hell would you drop out in your last year? That's absurd.

Personally I had NO interest in attending college - at least not a community college.

I gave up on life, and didn't care about anything. I hated everybody, even my friends, and didn't want to do shit, I just wanted to stay home and get high.

I was (am?) a spoiled brat. :babyface:



Plus, I knew I could go to college, anyway, so there was no point in me going through crap that I didn't wanna go through.
