Optical illusion mint eucalyptus pipe!

The smoke first goes through the ash catcher on the side. Then through the glass tube filled with beads that have been infused with mint and eucalyptus oils (from this nasal decongestant stuff)... You can put whatever you want in here...active carbon would be a good one, or fresh lavander maybe?

I find it really adds a lot to the flavour!

I get the wood from a local exotic woods place.

And, you can't really whittle hardwoods, they just chip on you. You have to cut the rough shape with a saw, then sand or file it down.

Ha, no idea... I have so much wood it's hard to tell where it came from/the cost.

It tends to become expensive at first because you have to buy the wood in fairly large blocks, compared to the amount that you actually use on a pipe.

Though, once you are invested in a bunch of different blocks, you can go a while without having to restock.

I also harvest all the applewood you see in my pipes, so that stuff is free. :thumbup:

ha, well, first i melted and blew the round bottom from a flat bottom vial. Then i sanded the end so that it had a sort of ground glass tapered end. 

It fits snug, and airtight. But you can take it off for cleaning. This sanded joint seems to work best with wood...

And yea, ha, I've become familiar with the difficulties in working with glass recently... You wouldn't want to walk through my shop with bare feet...
