The Watchmen is brilliant and is, IMO, one of the best book-to-movie translations ever. The theatrical version is great, the director's cut is damn near perfect.

Really? I didn't really like it. I felt changing the ending was FUCKING LAME. I also don't know why they had a character that is meant to be God have such a high pitched voice. The moon scene was sick as was Rosach, everything else was pretty lame.

It was damned near identical to the novel. Even the subtleties in environment. It was cast perfectly. What was there not to like?

They changed the entire ending man. Where is the dimensional monster? I think it was a cop out personally. I've only seen it once though and I was pretty turned off by it. Like I said a lot of it was done right, but the GN ending is one of my favorite endings of all time. I saw no reason whatsoever to change it.

I pray they stay away from the Sandman series.

They BARELY changed the ending. It had the exact same point. And the ending in the ending in the novel was just bizarre. Overall, it's an extremely minor change and to disregard the entire, brilliant film because of one slight change is just art snobbery

How is it art snobbery? I also fail to see how its a small change. Instead of bringing in some dimensional monster to ruin the world (and consequently unite it) they lame it on Dr. Manhattan and its his machines that do it?

Like I said Rorsarch was dead on and so was the space scenes. Nothing else really impressed me.
