oh shit i'm a dick.  i like to talk shit about weed and i forgot to actually say something helpful.

the good things about panic attacks and anxiety disorders is that you're not crazy, and you're not gonna go crazy.  full blown panic attacks can only last a limited amount of time, i think like 15 minutes, and having a panic attack doesn't mean you're gonna lose your mind.

you can think of it like your body's fear mechanism is kinda out of wack and it dumps all of its fight or flight chemicals too fast and for inappropriate reasons.  like i said the good news is this doesn't make you crazy, and it can only last for a limited amount of time.

i encourage you to read up on panic disorders on the internet.  understanding it can't really hurt you is the first step in getting rid of the crazy anxiety a panic attack can bring on.

i'll post some more stuff later, but yeah don't worry man, both panic and anxiety respond well to variety of treatments. medication works, talk therepy works.  simple things like massage or self hypnosis can work.  you got alot of options and you can definitely get back to feeling like your old self again.

edit: if it was PCP he would have smelled and tasted it immediately.

When I first began smoking weed I did have a couple experiences somewhat like yours. I never had a mental breakdown, but I did experience extreme paranoia/anxiety and very real hallucinations. Both auditory and visual.

The entire culture surrounding weed is very relaxed which is why I think most people are surprised when something like this happens to them. Most of the time, people will swear up and down that their weed just had to be laced with something. Because being paranoid or hallucinating isn't supposed to happen when you get high. If your smoking good weed though and enough of it, it certainly can happen.

Truth of the matter is and what other people posted, weed is a technically a psychedelic and in high enough doses you will trip. It's just a matter of knowing your tolerance and what you're comfortable with.

I felt normal again after a few days and eventually you'll feel normal again as well. It sounds like it might take a little longer for you, but it will happen soon.
