Casing Flushes

Do you get more flushes with casings or cakes? How many flushes is one to get with the casings? I know you can get quite a few with a cake, just wondering if it were the same with the casings. :ooo:

imoh the same. BUT I have found that cakes don't contam as quick as casings and therefore in general you might only get 2 flushes of a casing before it contams. BUT you will get a shit load more shrooms especially if your casing a bulk substrate.

I guess everyone has different experiences with this one, so you probably get lots of different answers. :wink:

mushrooms are produced until the nutrients are gone, (more nutrients=more shrooms)

Thanks! Im still debating, I dont have enough cakes to do BOTH. Would it be possible to let the cake flush once and THEN case it? :shocked:

You could but it would be rather pointless. You'd be better off either casing it to begin with or letting it flush once and then using it to spawn a bulk substrate.

I used get 2 large flushes from a cake then they would only give me a few mushrooms on the 3rd flush....so I didn't bother after a 3rd flush cause all the nutrients would be used up by then.
I always get way more mushrooms from casings....usually 3 good flushes....then the 4th flush would only have a few mushrooms.
The problem with casing is that if you don't do it right you get contams.

Yes you could case after a 1st flush.
In fact it might be smarter since alot of new growers get contams with their first casings.
This way you would at least get some shrooms and a few prints from growing off cakes....before trying casings.

You would be better off using the cakes after the first flush in a bulk substrate....such as horse poo or straw....IMHO
