Oooooh.  Well, i'd assume those same statistical processes were used in the great depression, so you can inflate that 25% upward by the same figure you're using for our current situation.  Do you think they counted every indian, chinese migrant worker, black slave, and redneck goldminer that was unemployed in the 30s?

that sort of reporting didnt come about until after the passage of the
unemployment act in 1946, prior to that it wasnt uncommon for
unemployment to be above 10%, since then it's been unusually low because
of the new reporting standards, the CDC has done the same sort of thing
recently regarding the h1n1 virus, now all deaths related to the flu are
listed as h1n1 as opposed to the actual type of flu that it is

THe man of the year printed more moeny because without it the entire financial system would have collapsed into a perpetual hemorrhage

so your saying that pumping trillions of dollars into the system what
have no backing will improve things, up until recently the money was
backed by loans from china, now it's backed by nothing, how exactly
does this instill confidence in the dollar

I'm still waitin on that Hyperinflation boogie man to show up.  My right wing friends have been screamin that at me for .. well.. since about the day Obama took office.  So far our inflation this quarter is about 0 (zero) percent.

because ben bernake decided to set the rate just as he does interest
rates and everything else, fiat currency is so easily manipulated, have
you noticed the sharp rise in gold prices, it's not actually because of
the price going up, it's because of the devaluation of the dollar,
instead of comparing the value against the price of gold, we're
comparing it against the chinese renminbi, another currency that's
losing value but is currently stronger than they japanese yen, maybe
it's coincidence that japanese bailed out the banks 10 years ago

what happens to the dollar after the rate freeze is over

Because nobody's buying anything.  All the liquidity (see also: money) the fed has created aren't chasing any goods, and as a result the price levels aren't rising.  This is why printing more money isn't a problem right now.

Yeah, the dollar's worth is down over twenty percent from twelve months ago, but inflation isn't happening.  If Bernake didn't do what he did, we'd have 25 percent unemployment, and a giant sea monster would have landed on Manhattan and eaten 3 million people.

It just makes me laugh when this joker comes up with "If I didn't do what I did" scenarios.  I don't know what goes into such calculations but I do know that they can not be trusted or believed.  Like, last January when the Obama administration warned that if we didn't shell out 800 billion for his stimulus proposal, unemployment might reach 9 percent.  Hypothetical situations are imaginary.  I can't believe meams buys into this shit, but I guess if I was paying tens of thousands of dollars for lies, I might believe them too.  It seems pretty clear to me that Time's Person of the Year is now nothing more than an advertorial or is it just coincidence that the award was given the day before the renomination process began in Congress?

There was something else I wanted to say but now I can't remember.

how about Obamas recent one about "if health care isnt passed by 2010
then the economy of the US will collapse", now he's wanting $2trilion
more in stimulus funds because the first stimulus worked so well and now
that the chinese arent loaning money to the US, where would the money
come from
