I don't have a gaming lapotop either,it's a normal one bought about 3 years ago...i was able to play half-life2 on it,don't think you're interested in shooters though...

Try stronghold,it's a great strategy game focused on the economic aspect a bit more then on combat...or anno 1401 or something like that...

I'm pretty sure there's 2 sequels to Frank's Adventure..

I haven't played it in years, might have to revisit it one lonely, bored night.

Ya It's worth playing but I cant remember if there's new weapons in it, it's been a few years since i played it lol I think there is though.

I play a very large range of games and have found for non-gaming laptops especially, turn-based strategies are awesome. Perfect for on the move / in class / in the car / etc; yah know stop and go moments.

That being said....

Master of Orion (1/2/3)
Exile III: Ruined World (Beautiful game done in paint. hours upon hours of game play / like final fantasy)
Galactic Civilizations (Like Master of Orion clone with better graphics)
Hero's of Might and Magic 1-3 (4+5 are quite graphical)

and last but my all time favourite :::::
AGE OF WONDERS!
Wow check it out, crazy micromanagement and battle strategies. plus 12 different races to choose from

But if I missed that you're not a turn-based strategy fan, then please ignore my post
