Just got the system so i was wondering what you think the best games are. I've played halo (jesus fucking christ, i rented it from blockbuster and they gave me 2 copies that DIDN"T work so i just decided to get mechassault instead) and rallisport challenge.
also,.. what's the deal with Live? do u pay monthly/yearly?
And last but not least, if anyone had games they wanna get rid of, i'll take them (if they're good). Also need 1 more controller and the dvd kit.

for live, i believe the first month is free, then its monthly. im pretty sure its fairly expensive to buy in the first place too, imo its a rip off. good games: amped- if your into snowboarding this game is really really fun! splinter cell- meh, its fun until its over. no replay value. silent hill 2- pretty cool, really really good graphics/cut scenes. quite similar to resident evil. halo- yeah dude, you gotta get halo! that game rocks! and 2 player is even better. baldur's gate: dark alliance- not the greatest rpg out there, fairly easy to beat, but still fun to hack and slash some giant rats and other oddities. halo 2/soul calibur 2- neither are out quite yet, you can pre-order both though. they both look really good. shenmue 2- big old fashioned beat downs, what could be better? good graphics too. elder scrolls 3: morrowind- another rpg, but this rpg is one NOT to buy! just steer clear of this one! although it may look good, its not, i was quite disapointed.

XBox Live is not expensive at all. It is $50 for the kit, which includes all necesarry software, a voice-communicator, and one year (!!!) of Live service. That's $4.15 a month - that's not bad at all. If you play the games, of course.
The best games are:
Halo Splinter Cell SSX Tricky Oddworld: Munch's Odysee Morrowind Buffy the Vampire Slayer (even if you're not a Buffy fan, it's a great game) Tom Clancy's Rogue Spear
Best Live Enabled games:
Tom Clancy's Rogue Spear Unreal Championship Mechwarrior: Mechassault NHL 2K3 (all of the 2K3 and 2K4 products are Live enabled, but the EA games - i.e. Madden 2003 - are NOT) Moto GP (and Moto GP2, of course)
I own an XBox, PS2, GameCube, and GBA (yes, I'm a geek), and teh XBox absulutely blows the PS2 out of the freakin water. Now, if the great upcoming XBox games would just hurry up!
