I guess since Cali already has prop 215 so anyone can get medical regardless of whether they have any legitimate claim to it, there's no real harm in passing this thing.  Just pay your $150 a year and you can actually grow, rather than just have a 5'x5' space.

exactly my sentiments. This does nothing but add more regulations. All I want is a bill to protect against discrimination. Its not right that some counties continue to create problems for medical marijuana users.

tax cannabis 2010 does not do this, it does the opposite.

This too has began to bother me.

Since Michigan finally became a Medical state, so many people seem to think they can make green $$$!

I was talking to this kid who thinks you can just grow and sell marijuana. Then he carried on about how he will charge different prices for different strains and shit, all I could think about is what a tool bag this kid was, and he didn't even know what his overhead would be, plus the retainer for an attorney when his shit hits the fan as it inevitably will. Oh well, not my problem.

I told him the laws were not meant to be that way.
Its just sickening to see that people only care about cash, and that stupid college kids that can't even read the fucking law, which directly prohibits making profit on the exchange of medical marijuana think this is the way to economic self prosperity.

I can't wait until I don't have to buy bud any more. Fuck the profits from it, I just wanna smoke, and smoke out those around.

From what I read in that thing, there was nothing specific, so get your friends together and vote for local officials who want what you want.

gee I dont know. Ive made what 4 posts in this thread talking about it. Maybe you should try reading.

you realize you have to be 18 to get your medical recommendation as is right now right? So in that aspect it doesn't change anything except raising it to 21. Were you smoking weed at age 18? If yes, then quit being a hypocrite.

so lazyfinger, lets go over this again. What does tax cannabis 2010 really do?

Quote:
Personally possess, process, share, or transport not more than one ounce of cannabis, solely for that individual’s personal consumption, and not for sale.

one ounce. Thats it. I can smoke that in one sitting. Guess how much you can have right now with prop 215? As much as you want. Who wants more regulation on how much weed you can have, especially such a small number like 28 grams.

Quote:
(ii)    Cultivate, on private property by the owner, lawful occupant, or other lawful resident or guest of the private property owner or lawful occupant, cannabis plants for personal consumption only, in an area of not more than twenty-five square feet per private residence or, in the absence of any residence, the parcel. Cultivation on leased or rented property may be subject to approval from the owner of the property.  Provided that, nothing in this section shall permit unlawful or unlicensed cultivation of cannabis on any public lands.

25 square feet per residence. Guess how much you can have as of current? As much as you want. So you want added regulation to how much weed you can grow?

Quote:
Notwithstanding any other provision of state or local law, a local government may adopt ordinances, regulations, or other acts having the force of law to control, license, regulate, permit or otherwise authorize, with conditions, the following:

I won't copy and paste the whole excerpt, but what it basiclly says is it will allow counties to discriminate still. If your county doesn't approve of you consuming marijuana, they can prevent you from doing so. Therefore, helping liberal spots such as oakland whilst screwing conservative counties. So tell me. Why add useless regulation, and make things worse on weed smokers. because it sounds nice? You tell me.

These are both questions. It is not possible for questions to be hypocritical. They might be loaded, but the age requirement seems like a good idea to me since brain development occurs into the 20's. Remember that they are legalizing medicine, so a Doctor could get around these requirements if the situation required, which it usually doesn't. You shouldn't be so judgmental, I think the age is a little high too, but it's the government and they want to be careful not to cause massive amounts of schizophrenia at high schools. They've already got autism to deal with.

k fine. you think 20 year olds shouldn't be allowed to smoke. but 21 should. How about the other points. Do you really want to pass a bill that will make things harder on weed smokers. I mean whats the point, whose side are you on?

You need to define "harder on weed smokers" by pointing out a specific item in the bill that I can agree or disagree with. This is what leads you to say "Whose side are you on?" You are just getting angry and confusing yourself.

As for the bill that I read, it made no mention of specific tax increases that I saw, It issued the power of taxation to local authorities making it possible for them to tax. This isn't a tax or even a restriction, it's posturing to allow for tax increases down the road. You can't reap a harvest early, but you can prepare. These taxes can be heavy or light depending upon cooperation. Without this bill, what rights do you have?

Sometimes you have to give a little to receive a lot. I understand that you don't like government, but tough shit.

dude, did you miss my entire post or what? You don't have to give shit. Why would anyone want to pass a bill that did nothing for them but add stricter regulation? Why would I ever want to limit my intake to one ounce when I could as much as I want right now? Why would I ever want to limit how much I can grow, when I can grow unlimited right now. Why would I want to pass a bill that doesn't protect the user from discrimination? Why would I want to pass a bill that doesn't free existing non violent marijuana offenders.

It just makes no sense for anybody but the fat cats up in oakland.

Laws have ultimately nothing to do with having rights even if those rights are not respected based on laws.

"7. Ensure that if a city decides not to tax and regulate the sale of cannabis, that buying and selling cannabis within that city’s limits remain illegal, but that the city’s citizens still have the right to possess and consume small amounts, except as permitted under Health and Safety Sections 11362.5 and 11362.7 through 11362.9."

So lazyfinger. Some counties wont let you buy or sell weed. And you get limited to one ounce. Would you want to drive to oakland where they have a monoply just to pick up your over priced weed?

sounds great right? :bye:

ah now it all makes perfect sense. you don't live in california. guess what, i can buy weed legally. Why I would ever want a law to cripple that ability would be ludicrous.

but I guess you'll never understand.

It's clear their interest is in making obscene profits off cannabis users, not promoting their civil liberties.  They fired one of their faculty, a longstanding member of the medical cannabis and legalization movements, simply for expressing his belief that people should be allowed to grow their own cannabis without paying exorbitant taxes.

I don't have any problem with some taxation if that's what it takes to make it legal in the short-term.... but it's clear that Oaksterdam's priority is not legalization, but simply making fat stacks of cash.

Fuck them and the horse they rode in on :kingcrankey:

I'm sorry.  Did you expect the inherently-capatalistic nature of the American spirit to simply not apply to the medical marijuana sector?

Even fucking churches are here to make money, this shit is the same.
