So any of yall remember punters and phishing on AOL?

so funny.  seems just like yesterday in a way, but also seems like a long time ago. i kinda forgot all about it.  but was ina justin tv channel, and someone brought it up.  i used to do that shit all the time.  get progs to do all kindsa crazy shit online and in the chat rooms.  i even made one myself.  man, i used to be way more motivated back then.  for stupid shit granted, but now i dont even wana be bothered.  i remember i used to know alot more about the internet back then, code and all that.  shits alot crazier now tho, and im just over it.  but yea i remember getin mad accounts every day.  i never did much for them but immature shit like tell people on their buddy list they liked to suck dick.  i mean, come on, i was like 14, 15?  just havin fun bein stupid. 
that shits so in the past tho. and its funny, cause to be honest, its something in the likes of a cultural aspect of whats now days past.  it was only for a brief time, but i know plenty of people, it was kinda  abig part of their life in a way.

just in that, we were always up on it.  me and alota my friends anyway.  we would find new awesome progs and punters, and share them with each other.  i had friends that made their own.

u guys remember Warez?

all kindsa shit thats kinda comin back to me.  fuck, floppy disks!  lol

but yea, if u were old enough to be online back in the days of aol being pretty much the mecca of the internet, u proly know what im talkin about.

i cant even begin to tell u how many times i got laid because of aol chat rooms.  there was a string of long island chat rooms, where im from.  and i would meet girls with the classic, a/s/l/p
trade pics, and meet up.  fuck man.......ive tried doin that since, but its not like the aol days.  them rooms were mad full.  and im surpised at how many times it served to my benefit.  the funniest was serchin profiles, that only consited of text.  i met up with girls that i would sit next to in class, and end up fuckin them.  its kinda lame, but it was alot easier to shoot them a question online, like, yo u wana chill?  and prety much knew what was in store after that.  some reason, its lame, but i was less likely to ask girls out at random while in school.  its such a production.  shootin someone and im back int eh day was just like easier.  just be like, so, we should chill.  and before i knew it, girls i woulda never imagined getin with, were in my bed.  haha.  i dont know what happened to that time tho.  i havent been able to find any chats like that in a minute.  i just think that time has past i guess.  granted im not online.  but i dont think all that many people are on anyway either.  a

ah, im ramblin.  i had a couple drinks and started reminisin of some old school online shit

o and, .wavs, that you could play in chat rooms so long as someone else had it on their computer.  i remember there were chat rooms dedicated to people trading .wav files. 
funny shit.  im sure ill remember some more, but, yea.  old school stylee.  im sure some of u remember, but i doubt many.

As long as I can remember, AOL handed out sucky disks everyone used as coasters and pigeons, and their messenger program sucked back when I was a chatter (2002-2005).

Yes those were fun times. Phishing never worked to well for me but I had a pw cracker program that tried a list of 50-100 common passwords through a tcp/ip connection when you were signed on with dsl. That worked great. I used to just steal other peoples codes for 1 Im punters and use visual basic to make my own.

Hmm.
I remember back when I was just a youngin getting started with computers. My dad brought home a box one of his co-workers gave him for me. He had no idea what was in it, but it started me into a amazing underground cyber world.

It was an old tape-back up drive with no drivers and loads upon loads of numbered tapes. It took me a few days to get it working (386, win 3.1, netscape 1, etc), but when I eventually found a suitable driver and program to access the tapes, I was awakened by what was on them. I spent the whole night listening to the VROOOOM - VREEEM of the tapes as I checked every single one.

Some of the tapes contained top programs such as autocad, microsoft doss development tools. others were all games (I got my first copy of x-com ufo defence this way :awesome:). But the rest of them didn't seem interesting until i read all the nfo's that came with them. they were credit card generators, brute forcers, virii snippits and sources; thousands of walk throughs and tutorials as well as leaks and early digital copies of the anarchist handbook.

But the coolest part was a tape that had no number, just my name. On it were hundreds of BBS numbers and passwords aswell as contacts. This is where I started making contacts and hookups across the lovely interwebs. I remember getting my first 56k dual modem and dialing into the BBS that stretched across Ontario, I was ecstatic.

To this day I still have the tape drive and the tapes I was given, and I never told my dad what was on them. But he did mention his friend at work always braggin about satellite codes and software that was never released yet. This was before mass forums and google.

I credit this as the beginning and earliest memory into my vast addiction with computer systems and the term "hacking"

That was kinda long and I apologize to no one who read my ramblings :crazy2:

My favorite prog was Fate, Pepsi (intro-ed with Mo Money Mo Problems), and Havok. I HATED AOHell because it came out later and didn't had a bunch of bugs. List of them here: Punters/MMz/Servers Don't download any of those, who knows what kind of virii they might have.

I remember that vividly back in the mid-90's when that crap came out. I used to distribute all sorts of Warez back in the day though AOL. That brings back memories with MMz and Servers I used to start up. I used to rack up mega phone bills to my parents when I was in high school. I remember getting booted from those chatrooms by CatWatch001 or whatever that name was. They would suspend my account and my parents would have to call and tell them to reconnect our service.

I successfully phished for a long time on there - especially when it first came out. I used to change people's main account passwords and any other non-parent account was automatically changed to children's settings if the person didn't phish other accounts for me. I was a loser cyber punk.

I also used to implant virus in fake progs and put them in my MMz or Servers. I was a fucking asshole. O well.
