Amsterdam - the one and only

Hey guys, so today I left BC on a trip to scotland, and half way through the trip I had to change planes in amsterdam and it was a 4 hour lay over.
So I thought I might as well explore the city for a couple hours. Ive never been and have heard lots of storys and Im planning on visiting for real soon. Its a beautiful yet dirty city, but in a good way, and what I loved most of all (aside from all the kabob and sex shops) was all the great headshops. They are so layed back and cool, and when i entered one some dude just rolled one. They sold peyote, and copius amounts of seeds ranging from AK-47 to Northern Lights.
Anyway before I go back and have a little visit Id like to hear some of your guys storys and what you liked best.
Im super stoked to stay there.

amsterdam is dirty? feels like a normal east coast city to me.

haha, yeah us canadians, clean freaks, well i dunno about all of us, but i know that i gotta have all my shit all nice and neat (by shit i mean my bongs and pipes and other paraphernalia)
And no i did not get laid, though I briefly toked up before boarding the plane :tongue:

I have been there twice and enjoyed both visits. I didn't go to any clubs or raves or anything like that but there were a lot of them going on it seemed. I picked out smaller cozy places to drink and ate from the things I could buy at the outdoor markets and cheese shops: which have a wonderful variety of cheeses. The coffee shops were neat and quite a culture shock to me. One of my favorite things to eat while I was there were called brodgies (Someone will have to help me with the correct spelling of that. I know it's terrible) Anyway, they are sandwiches of sorts and you pick out which one you like and they warm it up (or don't) for you. I thought that they were incredible. I was on a pretty tight budget when I was there so I toured a lot of cathedrals and churches and the like. With some of the museums you can get discounted or free tickets if you do it online. At least you could several years ago. Olde Jennivere is also worth a try. It's a liquor that is very tasty.
All in all I had a wonderful time over there. I ate a bunch of mushrooms thinking that they wouldn't hit until I made it back to my campground. WRONG!!!:grin:
It made for an interesting time to say the least.
