Britain to British Columbia?
    #11634941 -

Hey, i currently live in England UK and for some reason i feel incredibly magnetized to the idea of moving to Canada and British Columbia makes most sense.

I was just wondering if this is a stupid idea!?
It must be sooo cold, and i've also heard it rains ALOT?

Im sure the bomb Bud makes up for it & im used to rain anyway, but apart from that im thinking nice people, fresh air, snowboarding, cali down the road...
Im a hippy at heart & it seems like that kinda vibe round those parts?

Obviously ill go for a holiday first but until then... any thoughts of engouragement? Or discouragement?

Thanks!

Vancouver is very nice.
That is where I'd go if I moved out there.
Victoria is mediocre
as is Nanaimo.

Some of the small coastal communities on the Sunshine Coast truly have the Hippie Culture.
Look into them. Sechelt comes to mind.

Go for a vacation first and enjoy.

You will love it. British Columbia actually doesn't get very cold, they don't even get snow in most parts. It does rain alot but their is never a shortage of mushrooms.:tongue2:

Not to mention the dankest buds for very cheap.

Beautiful scenery, I wish I lived their.:gethigh:

I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand.":mushroom2::mushroom2::mushroom2:

Actually, I was thinking about it. And I've been to British Columbia, and explored the Sunshine Coast.
The place I noticed the most hippies was a place called Roberts Creek. It was between Gibsons and Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast.

It is a super small community, the grocery store is an organic place (there is a regular store in a nearby town), it is FULL of hippies, and there is a fantastic golf course.

Of course, you'd better have money, it's not a cheap place..

Thanks for the replies guys, im very excited

Ill probably go for a 2 week snowboarding holiday next year then travel around a bit for another week looking at places near the coast, just gotta check up on whats the best season for snowboarding, unless its year round? Im totally unfamiliar with that part of the world...

The idea randomly came to me & just the idea makes me insanely happy so i gotta let my heart push me where it will...

Ive worked as a car mechanic before, but im not qualified, just experienced... i wouldnt wanna do that to earn a living tbh, but ifit got my foot in the door...
I also speak fluent french but thats more Quebec i assume...

I trust the universe enough that if i really am meant to move there it will happen, if im not meant to then it won't

The fact the idea makes me so happy tells me i gotta at least give it a shot, first step, plan holiday & start saving!

ive been serious about the idea of moving from britain to vancouver for a while now, even checked out the immigration site, and it turns out i qualify under a skilled citizenship once i complete college. so theres nothing stopping me in a few years, but it just seems unrealisitc to me. also read that it takes so long for the application to go through, upto 3 or 4 years a few people have said. but i am going to book a holiday (vacation) there next year probably, just to see how i get on. for me i want to move there just for the better quality of life, clean air, beautiful surroundings, i could also do everything ive always wanted to do, like hang gliding off the mountains, kayaking. but its all still a dream at the moment.
