Cambodian Albino

IM on my first grow and I I just noticed today as I was picking some fruit that I have two Completely white mushies that are in their very early stage of life. Ive read up a little about albinos, And Ive done some cloning using tissue from fat fruit to make a LC to hopefully get all similar fruit sizes.  BTW I tried to download the pic but I exceeded my Gigabytes allowed. IS albino worth trying to clone?  This is going to look very cool when It grows..

Yeah dude I would love too. Im going to have to read up on agar. Im pretty new and the only thing like cloning Ive done is take a tissue sample from the upper stem. And with sterile technique put in LC.

Your best bet is to take a sample of tissue place it on an agar plate then grow it out to make sure there is no contamination before u make an LC out of it.

Thats really cool of you noobieshroomie and thankyou damion5050 too. So I guess its fairly similar to the LC. Ill read up on the details but its pretty much take tissue sample from stem close to the cap, Put in the agar dish, and let it start to grow. then I can noc up jars,and Lc from there.Should I PM yo shroomie, And if there is anything you need bro, you got it.

Make sure when you take the tissue sample take it from the middle of the stem and clean the stem really well before u cut into the stem.

I normally don't take a sample to close to the cap because there is always a chance you can get some spores..

OK  so Ill clean it up well. Mind you i havent read up on it yet so excuse my ignorance , Do you clean it with peroxide water mix? And when I cut from the middle of the stem just a tiny piece ?Ill get more pics up....:cool:

this was taken from a store bought shitake


and clean the outside of the stem with alcohol
then take a small sized piece from inside the stem

Well I clean the stem with an alcohol wipe, or a paper towel soaked in alcohol..

I then cut into the stem, you want to try and get a piece of tissue from the middle of the stem because it is the cleanest. 

After I get the sample I then dip it in some peroxide for 5-10 seconds to furthur try and clean it.

Last I place it on the petri dish.


*Remember there is really no need to water down peroxide, because it is usually 3% alcohol by volume.  So it is already 97%water and 3%peroxide.*
