look at the eagle nebula
    #11619526 -

This is that nebula where there was that dust plume that looked like alot of different religious figures from alot of different religions, look at this picture, one part looks like a dude facing backward reaching out and another looks like a hand reaching for something, one hell of a crazy nebula, man I'm stoked on science right now

  Have you ever seen the Beehive M-44?  You can see it naked eye in New Mexico, in dark areas, early in the evenings in June.  It is :awesome: but the full view sky of the milky way on a moonless night in New Mexico is

Looks awesome, really cool how you can see it from earth (beehive m44)

But wouldn't it be amazing to be able to look up and see this in the night sky

If you ever get down to New Mexico and want a good place to observe, go in June, set up on US 54 about 75 north of Alamogordo on a clear moonless night.  There is NOTHING there.  Its so fucking dark there that you will be able to see your way by starlight.  We used to go tripping on L and Mesc up there, by Gran Quivara national monument at night totally fucking :awesome:  By the way, that area on US 54 is where the supposed Roswell Alien incident occurred, it was by Corona NM and they supposedly took the bodies to the army base at Roswell.  Dude, Im getting homesick....

There should be an astronomy forum here, but i guess not enough hard core astronomy heads here.  Astronomy, even naked eye astronomy is THE fucking science that I would do if I could make any money at it.  Unfortunately, Im just an electrical engineer.

I'm all for an astronomy forum. I would frequent it as often as the pub if it's active enough
