cold shock casing
    #1161452 - 12/22/02 06:10 AM (13 years, 11 months ago)

aight, when i cold shock my casing (in the fridge) should i leave the covering on or take it off? i decided to cold shock it when I dropped the temp about 20 degrees in my grow chamber (by constanley changing those freezer pack thinghys in and out of a tupperwear container) for about three days and seeing no pins at all within the next week. I hope it doesnt matter to much becuase its already in the fridge with the cover on in a tupperwear container, its only been in there for a few hours though so if I fucked up please tell me so i can go take the lids off

leave the lid / cellophane whatever on. Fridges are full of nasty bugs. Cold shock for at least 12 hours and off you go.

"Fridges are full of nasty bugs"

Not really. They don't really like the colder temps. If they did we really wouldn't be sticking our food in there. I mean, bacteria is still all over the place, it just isn't it's happiest in the fridge.

But yeah, cover that casing up anyway.

you never seen that black mold around fridge seals (ok maybe not the ones that are religiously cleaned once a week). The reason you tend to get nasties in there is coz thats where you store fresh food (think of a nice raw chicken breast) - bacteria !

Also some fridges have drip trays near the rear - how often do you clean the water thats been sitting in the tray. Maybe your moms fridge is super sterile but I know for def that mine and most other peoples is not.

Sorry dude, I really don't feel like getting into a pissing contest here, but bacteria tend to favor slightly warmer temperatures. There is a reason why when growing bacterial cultures you store them in an incubator, not a refridgerator. There is a reason why temps are so important to cultivation. Try growing in your fridge and tell me how it goes.

Did you actually read the first post? The question was "should the posters casing be covered up in his/ her fridge) We all know bacteria favors a warm env. But by your own admitance fridges do/ can contain bugs (although yes they prefer warmth). So the answer is yes cover it up simple as that.

There really is'nt much to argue / piss about with this subject....So why are you posting...?
