Very sure. Stoned + organic chem lab = goood way to end up died or with glass shards in your eye. The stage in the experiment I was looking for still needed about 4 or 5 hours worth of work and to sit over night before any crystals formed. Some asshole stole my shit and did the work then I took back what was rightfully mine.

He probably accidentally took the wrong vial, thinking it was his, and finished it and brought it back.  Then when the experiment is due, he won't be able to find the work that he did.  Instead, he'll find *his* vial, and it won't be finished.  Probably the case, and if so, I feel bad for the guy... Glad it worked out for you though.

I spend my whole life in the P. chem labs.. now that shit is tedious.

It's impossible to pick up the wrong flask. It was clearly labeled "FC D-46" FC= experiment name, D-46= bench number. Everyone knows their bench number because they have to unlock that bench (which is labeled) to get their supplies out to do experiments.

Some lazy fucker likely didn't do the experiment, realized they wouldn't have time before the semester ended, so they took my sample. They were such a lazy asshole that they didn't even erase my bench number from the the glassware and replace it with their own on it. This is a rare case where stupid people are awesome.

It was actually one of the most difficult for us to do. A lot of people couldn't get their samples to crystallize after pulling out the pentane via the rotary evaporator. Their samples contained impurities so they had to do 2-3 more pentane washes, putting it on the rotatory evaporator each time to pull the pentane out. Some people have such sloppy lab technique :nonono:

I'm not aware of any uses for it. Cepheus could probably tell you that one, he knows way more about chem than I do.
