Lets be honest guys.....is Marijuana REALLY medicine???

OK guys. I want the gods honest truth, right here, right now :strokebeard2:! With a growing interest in Herbalism and more natural ways to heal/treat health related manners, Im starting to ponder Marijuana.

Is it really something that truley helps those who are seriously ill? Or is it simply an excuse that stoners have because they want it legal :smirk: I Like weed as much as the next guy, but whenever I hear the term "Medical Cannabis" Im rolling my eyes on the inside :lol:

-Got some back pain? GRAB YOUR BONGS!
-High blood preasure??? Light a joint! :rave:
-Anxiety??? You know where the Vaporizers at bro :stoned:!


Lets assume its legalized tommarow. Would medical cannabis really be preached about as much? Is it a honest herbal treatment from god/the earth that helps to treat medical complications :mushroom2:

yes, it cures my anxiety, boredom, depression, stupidity (yes, it makes me smarter), and anger.  some of those things doctors might not call diseases, but they are forms of suffering nonetheless, and medicine is what cures suffering so... yeah.

Yes...

You ever see someone with ALS smoke cannabis, makes a world of difference.

As far as psychologically speaking, it effects people in different ways so for some it may be a very healthy way for anxiety or depression. Although i think you can treat those with just the power of the mind.

Back pain or muscle pain, a fat indica will definitely relax those muscles and joints... try it in a hot bath.

Also, cancer patients going through Chemo, makes them eat a lot more and just have a different outlook on life that may or may not help them enjoy their remaining time.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons. But by far ALS has the biggest impact from Cannabis.  I forget what documentary it was in but it featured someone with ALS smoking cannabis and they were a completely different person, maybe it was The Union.

Even if it just helps you sleep, pharmaceuticals make billions on sleeping/anxiety prescriptions every year. Sooooo yes. Yes it is. Not to mention god knows how many other things it helps with...

I have osteoarthritis and i can tell you Medical Marijuana really works for it in place of pain pills and anti-inflammatory medication. Those pills use to tear my stomach up and i was addicted to the vicodin big time. I went through withdraw when i ran out of pills so many times it nearly drove me insane. I was so fucked up from pain meds that i never left the house. I stopped taking pills and started smoking because my doctor recommended it under the table. Smoking weed increases the quality of my life and it's a great medicine.

i think  with a vaporizer, you cant get a much better medicine than marijuana.

obviously people with nausea/cancer/aids can benefit dramatically and als or multiple sclerosis ,  with a vaporizer you dont get any of the side effects that can come with smoking so it is near perfect imo  and for some people smoking might help more for pain cause the body high is stronger

it also has anti cancer effects, which i think most ppl would agree is a medicinal effect

Thats IT! Multiple Sclerosis.  People who have that neeeeeed to smoke weed.  They danm near can't function as a human being with out it.

weed absolutely has medicinal benefits. for me it's most useful after skating or working my ass off all day when i'm sore and my lower back's hurting. it GREATLY reduces any pain/soreness and allows me to get to sleep much more comfortably.

though i do believe medical MJ is bringing out the hypochondriac in many many people :tongue:

Also the fact that tabacco & alcohol are legal, and weed isn't makes me go "wtf?"

Eliminating the factors of weed like the tar etc you smoke, i think THC and the other cannabinoids are great molcules that help in many ways.

It is the ultimate cure for boredom.

Im sort of interested on the physiological effects that THC exhibits down at the molecular level. For example how does it make u hungry. It is inolved in a PKB cascade that results in the export of GLUT embedded vesicles to the cell membrane. Then your blood glucose drops and u get hungry. But thats not really a medicine. It is very useful in epilepsy cause it reduces excess neuronal activity thus inhibiting teh neuronal excytotoxicity (i think the last term is wrong :vaped:)

A nice indica helps my anxiety more than benzos do, and it helps the pain from my back disability more than muscle relaxers and painkillers.

It's not legal in my state, but I really can't wait until it is. My meds are expensive as hell and I'm not risking losing my life to growing a plant or two.

There are definitely people taking advantage of the system, and until this stops, medical marijuana won't be widely and readily available to those who really need it.

People in CA etc. are getting treatment through cannabis and aren't addicted to benzos and opiates.

I keep telling my mom that she should smoke because she's become pretty absent minded and I'm afraid she might end up with Alzheimers, which I've always thought to be such a sad disease. She kindof rolls her eyes when I bring it up because, ya know, cannabis promotes short term memory loss. But I always bring up the facts..Proof's in the puddin.

Theres a part in Jack Herer's (the emperor wears no clothes) book where he talks about giving cannabis to some family member with alzheimer's and there was noticeable improvement after about a week, it was very encouraging.  The whole short term memory impairment does make it seem sort of counterintuitive.

There are fucking HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of practical medical uses, and it's the safest drug on the planet, what do you mean is it really a medicine????

Aspirin will KILL YOU if you eat 20 of the motherfuckers.

When I was in severe pain a couple weeks ago from my broken molars, I was given vicodins and percocets for the pain, which didn't do SHIT. A medical grade indica though, killed the pain completely.

There are some people MUCH worse off, and marijuana is the best and safest alternative they can possibly get to treat their chronic pains and various things. It's a lot better than eating some pills that are gonna kill you. New studies have shown that marijuana has a protective properties on the brain, it actually coats the neurons of the brain with an enzyme that protects it and minimizes damages caused by things such as Alzheimer's, MDMA abuse, etc etc. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. It does wonders for anxiety and depression in some people. And insomnia. And various phobias. And cancer patients. And AIDs patients. And people with chronic fatigue. And people with chronic pain. And the list goes on and fucking on.

Yeah sure, people use marijuana to get high.
But it's value as a medicine is completely legitimate, and totally underrated.

So yeah..,. fuck yeah it is a medicine.

I'm not on 3 different pills because of marijuana damn it. I love weed!

I just wish Indiana wasn't the last state that would EVER legalize it or even decriminalize it in any way shape or form. They have said that there is no chance at all EVER for medical marijuana to be welcomed in our state.

If it was just me I would move the fuck out of here, but my wife and kids are going to keep me here forever. I really want to move even just 1 state over to Ohio. They have sensible marijuana laws for a state here in the mid west/ North East.

at this very moment in time, I'm not in that position. however i was in the past. many times.....  some fucked up shit.

but never the less, now a days, drugs of all kinds are just what i use to explore my own mentality and such.


this might go lower/higher, but right now I'm saving my self demise for 12 years from now.

uhhh ya its a medicine and its better than most meds out there for the problems i have.



i have terrible insomnia.  without weed im awake for days on end.  benzos dont help,  other random sleeping pills dont work,  even ambien doesnt work even in the 30-40 mg dosage range.  a nice indica can have me sleepy from one decently big bowl.


i have had bad depression since the age of 8 or 9. it can definetly be debilitating  ive tried dozens of antidepressants like most of the ssri's ive ever even heard of,  snri's,  and other weird things. not a single one has ever worked AT ALL. weed makes me feel less depressed after 2 hits(from a spoon,  not huge bong rips).


i have bad anxiety that can be dibilitating.  ive tried lots of anti-psychotics and other meds for anxiety(forgot what they were) and they also didnt do shit.  than come the benzos.  they make me fiend,  and sometimes they make me feel WAAYYYY more depressed that i did before they started to kick in.  Weed can curb my anxiety in a hit or 2.


i have appetite issues where i very rarely feel hungry and can easily go over a day and a half comfortably without even thinking about maybe eating some food.  weed helps this:ilold:


so yes its very fucking medicinal.  No pharms helped any of my problems(except anxiety being helped by benzos for a while before they changed how they made me feel) and theyre a lot more dangerous.  Weed is safe and helps ALL of my problems incredibly, and all in one medicine too.  plus it smells and tastes good:crazy2:


and its not an excuse to get high(at least not for me,  though it is for a lot of idiots).  you can achieve can have medicinal effects without getting high.
