Monthly service charge!??? Credit Protection plan! ???

Im sick of these fuckers nickle and dime-ing my ass so they can squeeze an extra few bucks from me! I never understood why so many people (including shroomerites) hate Bank of America.....:strokebeard2:

It turns out unless I have a direct deposit of some type on my account, they will continue to charge me 8.95 every month just for having the account!

Is Chase a good Bank? I have a few hundred bucks in credit card debt with Bank of America, can I transfer it to another bank???

i just got a free 75 dollars from them so i'm happy. also have a $40 gift card as well if i sign up for some shit then cancel it.

well, maybe you should've read the fine print before opening the account.

caveat emptor man.

i got an awesome deal: free checking with no minimum balance.

actually i know what your deal is; you need a certain amount of money to be transferred from your savings to your checking/credit/debit account every month.

again you need to read the fine print.

boa sucks. they have for as long as i can remember. krishnadreamer....they will make that money back if you dont close out the account. they do shit to milk you for everything they can. and your sadly mistaken if you think you can just cancel those free trials. they are a bigger scam then boa. theyll just keep charging your account which theyll already have.

actually they haven't charged me anything. i've had this account for over 6 months now. trust me i read everything, the only requirements were that i have an opening minimum balance of $125 and use my debit card once in the first 30 days. i haven't had any services charges or anything, and don't even need to keep a minimum balance. i could close the account right now and keep all of the money i put in plus the $75 they credited to me... lol i'd be making money.

maybe you're right about the gift card thing, though it does clearly say that if i close the offer they won't charge anything. it's all plainly written so i'm willing to take the chance.

you will get screwed on the free trial no matter what the fine print says. ive sold many free trial over the phone and thats the whole scam. to get you to sign up and have to cancel which they wont do even when you call to do it. and thatll go on for months and when you are finally able to cancel youre never gonna see the money they got from your account. and if theres no money in your account then you will get overdraft fees. you really think theyre in the business of giving away free shit to try with no gameplan to make money from it?

and on top of that youll go on a bunch of call lists for accepting the offer and get all kinds of calls from telemarketers with more free trials. even if your on the national do not call list cuz you give them and all of thier affiliates permission to do so by acceptin the offer.

you gotta just call them and tell them what you want man.  That EXACT same thing happened to me, after a year I started getting monthly fees.  I called, told them I could open a student checking account free at any other bank, and told them to refund my fees and cancel the fees for at least a few months until I could find a checking account with them that would work.  I haven't paid a fee since at BOA, and I have no special pain in the ass conditions like they try to lay on.  Just lay it out that you a student and all these other banks offer free checking to students.  Use there spare the change shit and transfer 25 bucks a month into a savings account if you have to, point is tell those fucker what you want!

btw, they refunded that fee when I called them to complain.  I have yet in 6 yrs of banking with them ever paid them a single fee.  In fact... I don't even see how they have made any money off me, lol!  I have a savings account elswhere, and keep just enough in my BOA checking to cover bills.  I use the shit out of my BOA credit card though, but it has a low interest rate that I really have never even had to incur finance charges because I can generally pay off my balance monthly. 

Those poor BOA bastards literally don't make a DIME off of me, but I use and abuse them, and whore my money out to better interest yielding banks... using BOA as a local hub to actually send money to savings elsewhere if I am saving any money.

I have a BofA checking account, I dont think Ive ever once gotten charged for something.  I am considering moving my checking account to an online bank and having my work direct deposit into it.  Though eh.  I do have an online savings account that I'm a fan of
