Correction, I did Salvia my Senior Year, and even in a comfortable set and setting, It was a very uneasy 10-12 minute trip. It's not easy when you feel like you're immobile and the tiles of the floor come at you like in a Zelda Game. All and all though, I appreciate the seniority advice. Even I admit that the jump between Weed-to-Salvia-to-D.M.T. is a large one, but I've got a good head on my shoulders, and I feel I can handle the jump to hyperspace :smile:.

why? because i gave an answer relative to my own knowledge? what made my statement so retarded?

my point is that people in the emergency service industry are COMMONLY trained according to a lifestyle that has HEAVY FOCUS on avoiding drug use.

MOST OF THEM DON'T OPENLY USE DRUGS because it could be a cause of concern for co0workers and friends who know the EMT/Cop/Firefighter.

i dare to say that drugs are a huge taboo for people working in a protective field.

so EXCUSE ME for sounding retarded when i'm simply asking why a firefighter wants to take a bong rip of DMT and eat a handful of mushrooms to become enlightened...or something.

that only people who don't use drugs gravitate towards.

That in itself is stupid.

People of all walks of life use drugs.

Just because someone is an EMT, cop or Dr doesn't meant
that they are not going to want to use drugs

I have known several people in those fields that use drugs.

If you honestly believe that there are jobs that only non drug users gravitate towards..........

I have never met any who had a clue about drug classifications/ they just knew the word DRUGS and would never ADMIT using anything except alcohol and maybe weed.

it's one thing if i'm making a statement claiming to know for a fact that what i said was right, then you'd be warranted to call my statement RETARDED but I was merely stating my opinion.

you have to distinguish where the mental shortcomings lie, whether it is in my statement or my general opinion.

you have your opinion, which is that drug users also want to be public servants, which is fine - but don't firefighters have to be in ridiculously good shape? i'm sure a lot of these institutions mandate drug screenings to ensure that state employees aren't self medicating.

RX usage is completely different, if that's what you're talking about, either way, you jumped the gun to call my side of the argument, "retarded."

I used to be a Field Artillery officer in the Army, and nobody gave a fuck what I did as long as I didn't bring my personal life to work, or let it interfere with my capacity to do my job/task. So sleep well at night.

You don't even want to know what it was that I'd do at home...

I am not open about my drug use around my job. I keep that part of my life separate. I would never goto work fucked up on any drug. ( did in my younger days but I was in the resuarant industy ). As long as Im reasonable why should what I do in my own home be any ones business.

besides what people dont know cant hurt them

i totally agree with this, what i was getting at is that in emergency response occupations, i'm almost positive that a lot of these jobs DO CARE about your personal time and making sure it doesnt affect your professional life, that's why they do random UI's and counseling.

am i that wrong here?

Depends on the city or companies resources as long as there are no accidents you maybe get pissed test once a year and you sorta know when its coming up/ way around it. The fact is if I can do my job on Tuesday theres nothing wrong with me smoking pot on Saturday . Im also no way a dealer and a fairly resevered person. I would rather smoke a bowl watch a good movie and maybe split a bottle of wine then go out and get hammered at a bar .

Naw man, it's all good. You're right, the Fire Service has a _0_ ( Zero, Nil, Nada ) Tolerance Policy for those who do drugs recreationally. That being said, my drug of choice, is now psychedelics; I'm just working Volunteer right now, and using it as a career stepping stone, and they just do piss-tests, and don't have the resources for a hair follicle tests, but I'd only be doing D.M.T. .
