I'm just curious...
Does anyone here attend music festivals or any other "culture" festivals?
I went to Hash Bash this year in Ann Arbor, MI and Loyal Earth in St. Louis, MO.
I got to see EOTO and Pretty Lights in St Louis. Probably some of the best live "techno/trance" I've seen.... Although I'm not quite sure what category they fall under. I also got to check out Green Skies Blue Grass and The Macpodz while in Ann Arbor at the Blind Pig. Was quite the experience since I managed to find a hit of LSD.
I was supposed to attend Rothbury this year, but I got sick and two flat tires.... If It weren't for the flats, I would have still driven all the way to MI. Next year I plan on going to Bonaroo, Rothbury, and 10,000 lakes... maybe even Burning Man. We'll have to see how things go. I graduate with my Master's in business next year, so hopefully I'll still have time to enjoy some festivals.

I went to Watkins Glen NY in 1973 and saw the Dead and Allman Brothers, and Sedalia Missouri in 1974. Haven't been to a festival since.

Ultra Music Festival 10 in Miami in 2008 was my first and only major festival so far.

Yeah techno fest in miami. I want to go to 2010 one, the tickets were only 99 bucks pre sale but i just looked and there up to 140!

I went to my first music festival this year, just a real small one called rain dance on a nudist reserve. IT was fucking awesome, met some great great ppl there.,

Been to two this year. Shpongle & Ott at Mishawaka and Mars Volta at Red Rocks. Both were amazing.

I'm in Florida so it's just Langerado and Ultra for me.
Langerado's my favorite though. '07 had Bob Weir & Ratdog, and in '08 Phil Lesh and Friends. Amazing. 
They fucked up Langerado '09 though by inviting mainstream bands and leaving out the jam bands. No one bought tickets so they canceled it. :P

I've been to a lot of festivals in Minnesota. Also seen EOTO live a couple times.

This past summer i attended 3 festivals, or what ever you want to call em'....
They were all relatively small gatherings, the smallest having around 150 people, and the biggest having around 2000 people...They were held at various random locations off the beatin' path, in the middle of the woods up in the mountains. No worries of law enforcement of any kind. Just you and a bunch of other legit heads in the woods for 3-4 days, with music that literally never stops, ever, all through out the day, night, and early hours of morning....
Living in northern California is nice, there is practically a camp-out/festival/gathering going on every single weekend of summer.
Damn, can't wait for the first camp out of spring to get here...

Went to Allgood a few times, Langerado once, Gathering of the Vibes a buncha times, Ultra, WEMF when they still had it, and a buncha other smaller festies. Woulda hit a fuck load more festies this year but I was in jail for a few months, still got out to 3 different festies so it wasn't a total loss.

i dont really do big music festivals. i go to a LOT of small shows.
its not music but i go to the Ohio Linux Fest in the fall and SouthEast Linux Fest in the summer.
