Edibles? Actives? Nothing?

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Side of a "Resaca" (pond). Lots of ebony, retama and sabal palms around. Tropical climate. South Texas

Gills:
not attached, blackish

Stem:
really thin and brittle, dark brown with darker brown core

Cap:
dark brownish grey, some with nipples, some more sphefical. Might not all be the same but found them all in the same patch

Spore print color:
black

Bruising:
not much bruising going on as far as I can tell, but the shrooms are very dark to begin with

Other information:
they smell kinda shitake like but not that strong. mossy

Looks like mostly Panaeolus papillionaceus.  Was there dung around?

The caps I printed (and forgot on top of the counter) did a shriveling melting thing on me.(which is why Youth wants to chuck em)

But I think Panaeolus papilionaceus only grows from dung or soils enriched by dung.

hmm. . . well we just borrowed a good camera, so we can go back today and take pics of the habitat as well of any other shroomes of the likes that we find there.
Its kinda foresty which makes me skeptic about them being actives, but I know you CAN find some in foresty places, and as I have mentioned before we live in a very diverse region.

In some places around here you walk 3 steps one way and you go from forest to pasture, then turn around and walk 2 blocks away from that and find yourself in the beach.

I've even seen cows jumping over small fences to get to the greener stuff in the forest perfering it over the dry hay they've got in their field
