Oysters on straw: mushrooms vs. mold

Here's my straw basket that I've got colonizing with Phoenix Oyster mycelium:



And here's the spot of mold that has taken root in the center of the uncolonized area of the straw:

I'm curious what experience folks have had with oysters competing with green mold. I'm hoping that the oyster mycelium will chow down on the mold. Am I setting myself up for disappointment? I'm planning on fruiting this basket outside. Knowing that, would you toss the basket at this point? Please advise or relate your experiences.

It might not outgrow the green spot but it will still fruit. I would put it outside and let it do its thing.

Make a salt paste and completely cover all the mold area plus 1/2" all around.

I've updated my grow log with new photos showing its progress.

Here's what it looked like on 10/27:



And here's what it looks like today, 11/01:



There's been little to no observable progress in the colonization of the remaining straw. Also, the basket isn't warm to the touch on the bottom like it was a week ago.

Should I give it more time and see if the oysters eat any more of the straw? Should I fruit it now? Thoughts?
