Isn't quite as it seems?

Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

I was serious enough to have owned all their albums through "The Final Cut" on vinyl and to have gone and seen Roger Waters' "Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking Tour" in Oakland in '84. I own an advanced American promotional release of "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" album on the original English label, that an older friend gave me 'cause I was such a floyd-head!

Jebus! I just looked at the auction! More was a bitchin' album!

I wish I had some cash rigth now. I wonder if it's for real, as it seems pretty damn cheap!

Serious enough to have Syd Barretts first mushroom trip on both movie and DVD. They are one of my favorite bands ever.

Funnily enough, I dug out my copy of 'pros and cons of...' the other day.
What a great album that is, gotta love some of them lyrics:

I woke in a fever
The bedclothes were all soaked in sweat
She said "You've been having a nightmare
And it's not over yet"
Then she picked up the doggy in the window
(The one with the waggly tail)
And she put him to bed between two bits of bread

The leaves all fell down
Our crops all turned brown
It was over
As the first snowflakes fell
I realized all was not well in the camp
The kids caught bronchitis
The space heater ran out of diesel
One weekend a friend from the East
Rot his soul
Stole your heard
I said "Fuck it then
Take the kids back to town
Maybe I'll see you around"

Hehehe

Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Album: Animals

Bus stop rat bag, ha ha, charade you are
You fucked up old hag, ha ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
  You're nearly a good laugh
  Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hat pin
And good fun with a hand gun
  You're nearly a laugh
  You're nearly a laugh
  But you're really a cry.

If I had money to spare I might buy something like that just as a collectors item. It is heartbreaking to think of the things that get thrown out sometimes and no one ever knows about it!

I wouldn't be suprised if one of the original band members was bidding on the item themselves (assuming they saw the auction). If it were my band I would want the originals back just for keepsakes.

Yeah, "Pros and Cons" was a great album, and it was an awesome tour! There was a very elaborate set, and lots of custom film running. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours!

4.41 AM (Sexual Revolution)

Hey...girl
Take out the dagger
And let's have a stab at the sexual revolution

Hey girl
Let freedom for all be our rallying call
Tomorrow lets make our new resolution

Yeah, but tonight lie still
While I plunder your sweet grave
And remember
Only the poor can be saved

Hey girl
As I've always said I prefer your lips red
Not what the good Lord made
But what he intended

Hey girl
Don't point the finger at me
I am only a rat in a maze like you
Only the dead go free

So...please, hold my hand
As we blunder through the maze
And remember
Nothing can grow without rain

favorite band(from that time period)
i love everything about floyd. i was listening to meddle on my first acid trip. one of these days and fearless were fucking awesome. we listened to all of animals too also extremely great. i remember listening to wish you were here( album not song) but welcome to the machine was the only song played off that album for some reason.

Back before pink floyd (at least I think) his friend recorded him on his first mushroom experience ever. Its a pretty crazy movie....no sound though.

I never liked them(or listened to them) until I first smoked pot. After that I could never stop listening to them. I bought some books for the guitar transcription, BTW David Fucking Gilmour rocks and the solo on comfortably numb is the shit, and I learned every song I could possibly play. It takes talent to get the utmost respect from myself and so many other people. Listening to them tripping is like going on a long journey through their minds. My fav. album has to be animals but thats only because of the good effects they had, given they took 500,000 pounds and just bought every special effect producing machine for their time. I really wish I would have been able to see them(with waters) live in concert. You think they would play one more tour at least before they die for the fans. Any way they really fuckin rock.

Yeah..i just recently learned the solo to comfortably numb. very sweet. I love playing pink floyd on guitar while i'm tripping or stoned. So far, my favourite album for tripping would have to be darkside of the moon or wish you were here(i love shine on you crazy diamond. that's a journey). I too wish they would take a tour for one last time.

but hey...there are tribute bands who are VERY good. The machine is supposed to be awesome
