Big Investment,mycobag failures!
    #1119792 -

alright, i bought 10 mycobags and 2 EQ + 2 PES Hawaiian. The first time i tried using the EQ they failed and so did the PES. I had the EQ's in a trunk in a room with a temp ranging from 79-83 degrees. I put the PES into the failed EQ bags but this time i put them in a cardboard box with little holes punched around the sides(at the the time i thought ventilation was helpful now i know that it is only helpful during fruiting) and i set it next to the radiator in my room because the bags never felt warm in the trunk. I never even got any mycelium! For those of you who have used the mycobags where did you put them so that they wouldn't be in the light? Also are their any tricks of the trade for these bags i should know, possibly thinking of getting a water heater in a glass to put into the trunk? I just got new reimbursement spores and i realy can't afford to fuck this up again seeing how much money i have now put into it. I have read all the myco bag posts for the last 24 or so pages so i'm not just being a lazy ass dude. Please help me? maybe these strands need something more????

ok...my mycobag advice is to get a "3heat--heating pad". i got mine for like $10.99. so, i incubated mine in my guitar amp cardboard box. it's a pretty big box. w-12" h-20" L-27". so it could easily fit 10mycobags in iteself...wrap the heating pad with 1layer of a bath towel, so heat is NOT -directly- on the bags. keep the box wrapped fully with a blanket & keep the heating pad on "2". BE STERILE!

How did you innoculate? Did you inject directly into the substrate or PF style onto the inside of the bag? I've heard that makes a difference, but I've also heard that it doesn't. Also if your nag is looking dry, you could boil up some water and inject it when it cools down.

That's my 2 cents worth.

This is my thrid attempt at growing, thats the extent of my expierence. I injected 1 cc into the left and right sides and 1 at the back and 1 in the middle. I used 2 syringes for every 5 bags just to be sure. I didn't squirt it down the sides, maybe i should do 2cc in it, and 2cc down the sides. I tried to post earlier but never was able to locate my post, i just looked agian to and couldn't find it either. Where did you get that 3-way heating pad, and have you been able to use it succesfuly with these bags? Also according to you the way to do it is rap it in a towel, place it directly under the bags and then wrap the box in a towel? I assume their is temperature gauge. thanks!!!

Put it in a cardboard box, on top of the fridge.

I have heard mixed things about reinjection of water into the bags if they look dry. How much should be shot into them and where, i assume directly in. How long should you wait between water injection and spore injection?
